WTB: Looking for a AC compressor
You don't need a new compressor. You just need a new front plate. Luckily, the front plate off of many different Nissan compressors will work fine. My '03 G35C did exactly the same thing. I took a front plate off a '95 240SX compressor that I had laying in the shop. I had to grind down the back of the splined "sleeve" part of the plate a little so it would give the right clearance to the compressor clutch, but then I bolted it on using some loctite on the bolt. It then worked flawlessly for me for another 30,000 miles until I traded the car just two weeks ago. One caveat: make sure the center (splined) shaft of the compressor isn't locked up. If it is, then you will need a compressor. Since I had a front plate laying around, I just stuck it on there and made sure the compressor would spin before I ground it and bolted it on.
It's funny that I found this thread, because I was actually coming on the site to sell the new-in-box compressor and condensor/accumulator that I bought for mine when this exact thing happened to me. I just decided to tinker with the front plate before I broke the system open to change the compressor, and I stumbled upon the (for me) zero-dollar solution.
