wheel repair or iforged?

Well it finally happened. I freakin scuffed a wheel this weekend. It's not really bad but just a slight scuff. It's on the side wall of the wheel. Anyone know of a place that can repair this or do i have to send the wheel to iforged? Cant really notice it unless you are real upclose. Just gets to me knowing the wheel has a scuff. Thanks!

Wheels of America... they are here in dallas.

You can go through any Discount Tire and they will send it off for you with no shipping related costs. It's like $125 per wheel to be fixed. They do VERY good work. Had a buddy that was screwin up a Lowenheart every 3 to 4 months and used them every time.

I've used Wheels America several, several times for my iForged. If it's a slight scuff, you may be able to fix it yourself. I've done that with minor nicks and scratches on the lip. If it's a gouge or deep scratch you can send it off.

What do you use to fix it yourself?

Well, since mine are high polished (not chrome), I was able to clean up the scuff w/ a dremel and sandpaper. I was then able to repolish it myself.

I had a feeling you were going to say that. Im guessing if they fix it then it has to be re-chromed.

I was planning to send all 4 of my wheels off to Wheels of America ... I've been told that the $125 per wheel price will include a complete refinishing of the wheels (chrome not included) and was thinking I might be able to change the color of the center spokes but I'm not sure???

I'm thinking about changing the spokes to black, whattaya think?

I can tell you that iForged will take forever! I had peeling clearcoat on a couple wheels, and a small curb rash on my iForged Aero's and it took 8-10 weeks to get the wheels back.

Wheels of America will turn it around faster. I am pretty sure they can do color changes, and chrome, although some of it will cost extra. There is also another company in Dallas called Wheel Technologies. I do not know much about them, but here is their site:

I tried Wheel Technologies once and had success. Both Wheels America/Technologies have a 24 hour turn around.

I wish I still had the wheels, they were on a 350Z I had before the sedan. I loved the way the wheels looked (still one of my favorites), but hated dealing with iForged.

When I sent the wheels in for repair, I ended up selling the Z, and then the wheels when I got them back from iForged. I went for a light weight wheel for the sedan. The Enkei wheels I have now are light (18 lbs., and pretty cheap too).

Good luck with the wheels....
