I posted this over there too

I was gonna do this a long time ago, thanks for the reminder ... I think it will make the car more enjoyable to drive in traffic (and when speed shifting at the dragstrip )

Is it just me or does my G look sitting way higher than the other Gs I see driving around town?

Also, I wana start modding... just a little... few questions...
1. Whats a GOOD/recommended suspension (struts and coilovers) for the car?
2. Whats a GOOD/recommended intake?
3. Anybody here adjusted the clutch height to sit deeper inside?
4. Anybody done this ipod install?

As for number 3, yes. See posts 31 to 33 above. Big difference, first thing I did on my car, right after changing the cabin air filter

Yes, I changed it myself. I just put a Bosche filter or something like that, wasn't K&N though IIRC

Hey bro, car looks sharp! As for your question about the ride height, you're just the same as any other stock G I'd say. Being a '06 the stock springs should be settled. The problem is you start seeing others that are lowered and realize how high they sit stock (looks wise).

1) I run TEIN FLEX coilovers. I can't comment on any other type since this is the only that I've owned. They are relatively firm compared to stock and your ride height is completely adjustable at all 4 corners. I have also have the EDFC (electronic damping force controller) mounted in my dash which allows you to change the stiffness of the ride at a touch of a button. Most coilovers will allow you to change the damping by turning a screw at the top of the strut/shock mount, the EDFC allows you to do it electronically. most people wouldn't see the need but I like it to be able to have it at the softest setting for daily driving and then change it on the fly for hard cornering, track, etc.

2) Can't help you here, I have a supercharger

3) Not yet but I still plan to do it soon

4) I considered doing that but found something cheaper that can be inside the cabin (USA Spec PA11-NIS). This has to be plugged in behind the stock stereo so it's not as easy an install. What I like about it is that it can sit under the dash and feed into the armrest where you can control the ipod manually if wanted. Another great thing about it is that you can actually control basic ipod functions through the stock stereo (ffw, rew, next song, prev song, etc). You can also enable playlist mode instead of direct mode. Additionally it has an additional connector to hook in another audio source (DVD player, XBOX, etc.). List price on it is $150 but I got mine for $120 shipped through eBay.

The Lude is a great car. My buddy had a '99 till he put it into a tree. But you won't miss it. Twice the HP and RWD will more than make up for your youthful lust for speed and excitement.

But let me suggest a first mod.

CLEAR CORNERS! Do a search. They make every G look so much better for about 30$ and 10 minutes to install.

Are you mechanically inclined? I am not, but I have done some easy work on my lude (changing out the suspension, putting on an intake, headers, etc).

Would it possible that I do this in your presence, so you can help me with your experience?

Hi BeerViper, Thanks for the great reply...

1) So TEIN FLEX coilovers is a complete set of struts and springs? And also, both are adjustable, stiffness and height respectively?

4) For the ipod... I saw the article on the one you are mentioning... I somehow like the one I mentioned about, as it much easier to install and uninstall, plus I think, I can still control it from the stock radio unit. Will have to read on it more.

I love the short shifter/stage 2 cluth combo on my lude... so much better than the stock G... I dont like the time wasted in changing gears on the G... I need to do the clutch height adjustment ASAP.

Ya, I put some PIAA hiper white LEDs bulbs behind the the side markers... need the clear ones to show the PIAAs off.

I wana replace out the parking lights with the same PIAAs... I opened the hood, but would not figure out how to get to them. I have a 2006 coupe.
Anybody know how or point me to a DYI?

You won't have any problems changing the cabin air filter considering what you've done with the Lude. It's just a pain to do, but not difficult. I have no problems being there with you when you do this, to lend a hand if needed. Perhaps at the next meet? Bring your tools and we'll knock it out in no time.
