Shop to do Brakes
Shop to do Brakes
Gents,
Can someone recommend a good shop or even a member to change my front pads? I live in Flower Mound and am going to swing by Grubbs go pick up some HPS pads for the front...
What should it cost me to install? What would a fellow member charge me to do it?
I've changed my eclipse set-up about 5 years ago but don't feel like dealing with it...Suggestions?
Thanks

Just Brakes? Brakes Plus? Midas? Firestone?
I don't think the sedan brakes are very involved, I'd bet if you brought the pads into a Just Brakes or similar place they would whip it out pretty quickly without worry...

Well I know that G'ed in TX doesn't have 2-piece rotors on his sedan...
I would have to suggest a race shop to resurface your GREX rotors such as the one at Motorsport Ranch where they actually sell 2-piece rotors... But are you even able to resurface those 2 piece rotors? I thought the big advantage was to be able swap out the friction surface with blanks which were much cheaper?

Anyway I take my rotors to D&D automotive in Carrollton. You have to bring in the rotor though (will not touch your car). They will put it on the lathe and make it straight again ~$10 per rotor. That's why I have two sets of rotors, I aways have a set that is ready to go. I guess you now have a daily driver so you could just take off the rotor and go get it done. They're really good about taking the least amount of material possible.

Just spoke w/ George over there...said slotted or cross drilled rotors are no problem. They're open till 6:30 on the weekdays, so I'll bring them by tomorrow night after work. Hopefully get them done by Friday.

You may also want to pick up a can of squeak relief at Napa auto parts while you have the rotors off.

Seems to extend the life of the rotor a little bit. I would either disassemble the hat from the rotor or mask off the hat before spraying this stuff. I think it helps you bed the rotors more evenly, if that makes any sense.
