I actually just cut the bulb off the board and soldered some LEDs on... I'll put together a DIY when I get more LEDs for the other light. But a bulb won't work as there isn't enough space under that cover...
But what I did was take 2 vanity mirror festoon bulbs, broke the ends off and soldered them inline with each other using connectors, so I now have 6 LEDs instead of just 3. No need to worry about resistors as they are already on the boards.
I also have some stock bulbs and a few extra LEDs coming in BTW...

Could use some pics. I pulled mine out, was going to solder on the bulb, but am afraid it wont clear. I purchased the festoon bulbs reading this thread, then I got them in and popped off the cover and saw this garbage bulb for the 04.
What specs on the LED, where did you purchase? Thanks for the help!

All I did was cut the bulb off leaving the wire pieces, glued the LED board in place, and soldered those to the ends of the LED board, making sure to connect the positive to the positive side, and the negative to the negative. Unlike most halogens, LEDs are not reversible, so if you wire up an LED wrong, it won't work (Light Emitting Diodes). It's pretty easy to tell which side is positive and which is negative, but I need to take another look to be certain before I tell you guys which is which. Standard LEDs usually have one wire longer than the other, while surface mounts (the smaller square ones) always face a certain direction. If you take a close look at them, there's a beveled corner.
If you want to put two of the boards on, you just use connectors and do the same, keeping the boards inline (- to -, + to -, + to +, like batteries in a flashlight). Otherwise, you will burn out one or possibly a few of the LEDs... or they'll just burn out faster, if you're lucky.
