guys who have been scammed: one idea that might work faster is seeing if KCBD, the lubbock affiliate, is willing to do some investigation.

call them and tell them the story. They might be interested in hearing about this thread. It's a longshot, but if these two kids got airtime b/c they're scamming people, they would probably just pay

Heck, I even know someone that used to be a producer there... might still have a contact, if need be...
That's a bit of an invalid assumption in my opinion. You have to be an educated buyer and seller in today's online marketplace.

I'm waiting until tomorrow to see what paypal arrives at. If they don't return any money, then I will pursue the case with my AG and local police dept. I've already submitted reports to both, but asked for an immediate hold (it can stay there up to 30 days they said).
I don't expect my money, and at this point don't want the part, so my goal is to give these kids their due comeuppance. I haven't attempted calling Chris Woodruff this last week. I haven't been able to reach anyone at his number, so either they don't live there or Brandon gave his parents' my number to avoid.
