Poker night at BeerViper's crib
I do this every year (3rd year now) around my birthday. I'm having this years game on Saturday the 21st starting at 6:00 PM if you are interested. Yes I know this is the same night as the monthly DNE meet, but you'll survive
Last year we had 18 players for poker iirc and a bunch of others that came to hang out or play board games or drinking games or pool, etc.
We will have Sam Adams Boston Lager and Miller Lite ON TAP along with sandwiches and finger foods.
Let me know if you're interested in stopping by.

few questions......
since it's a tournament style game, im guessing no re-buy-ins? how much is the buy in? what are the small/big blinds and do you raise them? does the winner take all or is there 2nd - 3rd place etc....winners also?
d@mn, what happened to the Shiner Jon? Can i bring a case?
also, my Bubbee wants to go.....can i bring her?

Buy-in: $20 or $25 gets you ~3000 in chips
Re-buys: For the first hour (if you run out of chips)
Add-on: At the end of first hour you can buy more chips (regardless of your chip count), amount of chips and price TBD
Blinds: usually start around 10/20 and will go up in 15 - 30 minute increments
Payouts: Depends on the number of entries, last year paid out 4 places
As for the Shiner Bock ... if they start offering it in the tall slim pony kegs I will swap out the Sam Adams for Shiner, but as far as I know Shiner still only comes in full 1/2 bbl kegs or the short stocky pony (can't fit 2 of those in the kegerator).
If you want any other beer, please feel free to bring some along

Last year I think the final table lasted until around midnight but I don't think we got started until 8 or 8:30. We had cash games going on the side for people that dropped out of the tourney as well...
This is how my tournaments go...

Yes of course Bubbee can come!
This tournament style is like this because it's a group of friends. It's cheap to get in and if you go out, you don't have to re-buy. There are some very experienced players along with some very novice players so it's an interesting mix.
The main thing that makes it go longer is those that don't know the game as well. There's always socializing and stuff going on so it's not a super-serious game but it's definitely fun ... especially after BeerViper has had too many Beeres
