Auto-X anyone?

Any of you guys autocross regularly?

Last time I auto-x'ed was about 3 years ago, when I had the Integra.

I'm going to an auto-x every weekend this month in the G. It's going to be interesting with twice the power, three times the torque, and RWD.

VDC off!

I'll probably continue to go to 1-2 a month.

I'm planning on buying an old miata near the end of the year just for auto-xing.

Any suggestions, tips, etc from anyone who has auto-x'ed a G before?

I'll likely be at most of the autocrosses you do this month (ER this weekend, SCCA the next, NTAXS the next and ER the last), but I'll be in the EvoX. I know there's at least one other G35 on here that's been to a couple autox's last fall. Maybe they can give you some pointers.

Yeah just saw your name in an email from Paul Magyar for the SCCA autocross school for the 14th. See you there... I'll be in the black G. Obviously I'll be at the event on the 15th, and the NTAXS the next weekend. On the 7th I'm actually going to the BMWCCA event. Can't wait.

If you're not already aware of it, I HIGHLY recommend going to the N. TX S2000 autocrosses. It's a joint event with the local Miata club as well. Their courses are a little tight and designed for smaller, nimble cars, but I assure you'll be a better driver because of it in a heavy car. there's some nationally competitive guys out there who are very helpful with advice and ride-alongs. I've been hanging out with that group for a few years. They're a great group.

Did you see me out there? lol

I saw from the vids your car is red. Was it the red evo w/ the white rims?

Should of introduced yourself man! Maybe next time.

I missed the autox the next day. I got rear ended on the way home from the class on Saturday. I was out late too and I ended up way oversleeping and woke up at 11am on Sunday, totally missing the race.

Still though, $75 just for Saturday is still a good deal.

I was the red evo with the fat tires. My buddy is the red one with white wheels.

I was standing in the friction circle most of the time when you were running. That inside wheel was just spinning away!

Quite a few people missed out on Sunday. It was super busy though with like 150 people (which is huge!).

Hahahahaha ah man. Did you catch my first runs? Plowing around that circle like a noob. I did think I made some improvements by the 10th run. The tail end gets loose so easy - it's sad. I do recall a person standing in the middle of the circle as I charged towards it.

150 IS HUGE! dang! How many runs did everyone get with that many people out there?
I wish SCCA would cap their events like some of the other groups do.

I'm starting to think of getting a miata sooner... or sharing some costs with a friend's miata and do 2 drivers.

ya you were definitely getting smoother as the day went on. We were afraid you were going to ruin your tires (but I was the only one I know of that ruined tires, I corded two rcompounds with my hammer headed driving).

We got 4 runs. The event this Saturday ($20 for 8 runs) should be a lot of fun. I hate how long the days can get with the SCCA. Last year at the Road Course it was really painful with all the people there.

And I've contemplated getting a Miata. If I'd not bought the Evo, I would be in a better position to. Now I'm trying to figure out how into tracking the car I really am (because there's about $2k more stuff I need/want to do to prepare it + the Evolution School in May).
