Is there any place local that will repair our bose radio?

So I've had 2 radio's go out on me now and drain the battery. Are there any places local that can repair one of the radios? Cd tray is stuck in one of mine and drains the battery, and my other one just drains the battery. I would rather do it here than ship it off somewhere.

Thanks guys

+1 on getting it repaired but why not go with aftermarket headunit?

just a suggestion - alpine MP3 players are cheap...come with iPod cables and are around $130-$150...and they sound better...

GL on getting it fixed...but if worse comes to worse - fork out the cash..

I just don't want to go through the trouble of finding a kit to make it fit. If I was going to go aftermarket, it would just get a nice touch screen one. Upgrading my radio isn't a priority for me right now, I don't drive around enough.

Having replaced many Bose systems, I can tell you that when one thing goes it typically cascades to other components of the Bose system. Aftermarket is the way to go, and I'm not just saying that cause I put em in!

I have the a/c issue where the whole panel is turned off and auto a/c turned on (2003)

Now the repair guy locally says that repairing the bose system itself will solve all the problems.

Now, Im not really a big fan of Bose (clarion) itself. So can some one convince me that an after market unit (alpine etc) might solve this issue (at least a good chance)? Will I still use the original panel for a/c etc?

Unless it's a fuse or something, the Bose and the ac should be completely unrelated. On some Nissans they share a circuit board, but if you were to put in an aftermarket, the dash kit you get from the dealer will come with a new ac control. The W200 is a great unit, the only drawback is the bluetooth. echo is an issue on those. The pulse touch screen is really nice though.

Hmmm. But since both of them share the same platform, is it possible that the bose unit is specifically messing up part of the PCB due to which a/c controls are acting funky?

If yes,
(
Then on this note:

1. Probably I can just use my original PCB for a/c controls and have some kind of iPod adapter to connect to the system bypassing the head unit to play music? and hence leave the missing HU area empty or covered up. [I know this is untidy... but what if it works!]
Do we have an adapter that would plugin to the car's audio interface without a need of HU?

2. I can still use my original a/c controls and have HU mounted elsewhere?
)

If no,
(
Well, I might have to invest in JDM/metra or get my unit repaired. Although I have found JDM way to be a popular one around here.
