my plenum was my 2nd install EVER IN LIFE and it only took me like an hour and a half, and I was checking and rechecking that I did everything right (using that same youtube DIY).. So it's nothing really..

what are you gaining by actually doing the spacer install?

Equalized air volume supplied to each intake runner. The OEM plenum short changes the front two cylinders of air. If you don't have an inch-lb torque wrench, you can hand tighten with a nut driver and gloves.

Wow.. I didn't know there was a depletion of air to the front 2 cyl.. That's kewl.. I thought just gave the air more space to tumble in the plenum prior to going into the cylinders and that equated to more air..

more air = more power

However there's a limit to the amount you can actually gain..

i bought a plenum spacer from conceptzperformance.com for $160. That fits right in your budget! It only took an hour and a half for me as well.

yupper.. too level in my opinion.. I want my front lower, so I'm going to coils and gonna sell my springs.. I know I'll need other suspension pieces, but I have to get that profile I'm after..

Have a look at my progression thread, or my newest album and you can see the drop.

100 ft lbs baby!!!!!! hehehehehehe (sorry, DNE joke...)

So yea, I've done many installs on many cars, so the plenum spacer only took me about 30-45 mins, plus, I helped remove it from the car of the guy I bought it from (Thanks Godzilla!). And save your money, the size doesn't change a damn thing. They even sell one that's angled and it doesn't do anything special either. I got the absolute smallest size and LOVE it. There was a guy here in dallas that had/has a boosted Z and tested all of them on a blench flow tester and none of them outperformed the other. All showed approximately a 10% gain to the 2 cylinders as waijai stated. Great mod. Best mod in my opinion

best deal I found was on here w/ motordyne for the spacer.. But I got Jotech (local in Garland) to price match, so I didn't have to wait for shipping.. Same thing for Intake tube and JWT Pop Charger..

if you want a "show" mod that's super cheap, I'd say Clear corners, its amazing what a difference they make in how clean a g looks. Spacer and z tube/ intake is a great idea your engine is gonna howl ^^ and the spacer definitely gives good gains
