Our cars have a lot of mods you can do. Depends what route you wana go...
Show mods, power mods, both, interior, exterior, under the hood etc....
I personally think, a CAI is a good 1st mod. Look and subscribe to the various classifieds sections... you will find good deals.

^+1, it all depends on what direction you wanna go. For myself, I decided to finish all my show mods before I start on power....cause if youre not boosted, you aint doin ish on a G power wise. Intake and exhaust are always good regardless though. Springs will run you about 190 shipped. Thats a good start. Tint is a must as well if you dont have it already

by show, they just mean exterior mods (ones that don't make you go faster) not necessarily " a car show"..

I'd say go 350z tube and pop charger or stock air filter instead of CAI.. Heat transfer pretty much negates the HP gains.. Plenum spacer is a GREAT investment and when you get more cash, change out the cats.. I agree w/ Aaron, if you were to purchase exhaust on a NA car, you're just doing it for sound and looks.. You're not really gonna get the gains associated w/ the exhaust's full potential unless you're FI. That's why I haven't done it..

Springs are a good idea too since it just "has to be done".. I love my tenabe NF210s. Nice conservative drop.. Look at my progression thread to see before and after pics of the drop. I got mine for 208 shipped.

My advice is to create a vision of what you want to do with your car first before just blowing money on things b/c you just want to start modding. Don't just throw bricks in a pile hoping it'll become a building. Create blueprints first before the ground breaking.

could not have said it better myself... in my opinion, CAI doesn't get enough gains to warrant the money. z-tube and pop charger or k&n drop in with a plenum spacer and you'll be plenty happy... i'm a bit biased on this setup cause it's how I'm running...

Please listen to the man.. he's dropping jewels here and he's saving you a LOT of money..

I think this REALLY pertains to exterior mods because that directly affects the outward appearance of your ride.. I think intake and spacers and cats are pretty much standard as far as "go" mods..

But you really need to THINK and CONCEPTUALIZE your exterior mods before you start throwing things on your ride.. But w/ 200 bucks you're pretty much going "go" mods instead of "show" mods.. Unless you do a pair of Ionic Eyelids.. Those always look nice too..

It's not biased when it's the truth.. it's called being a smart consumer bro.. search button.. so many people preach it, but so few use it.. It's saved me a GRIP of cash learning what to avoid..

Bingo.

Are you ever planning to go FI? If so, don't waste time buying a cold air intake, or a z-tube etc. Get a plenum spacer instead since that will still be useful for FI.

Will you eventually get full coilovers? then don't buy springs now, and get other suspension/handling mods instead. You get the point.

My suggestion to you for a first mod would be sway bars. They make a HELL of a difference in how your car handles on curves and turns. for your specific case though, since you want a slightly sportier look, maybe springs, since they will also improve hanlding while lowering the car a bit, making it look sportier. But for ~ 200 bucks, suspension mods will give yout eh most noticeable improvement and enjoyment.

I can bring the cipher to the next meet or you could come over sometime, or we can meet some place, it's all good!

This weekend I'm busy though, so maybe next weekend.

Just an fyi, there are limits to what the Cipher can do, so to say 'Tune' would be a bit of a stretch, lol. I can adjust your timing by +/- 2 degrees, so if you have added some mods that affect airflow, increasing timing can help you realize more benefits. I can adjust your idle depending on the year of your car. I can't change your air/fuel maps though, need Osiris for that.

Plenum install is pretty simple. I did the iso thermal install in my garage fairly quickly, and that is more involved since you have to remove the top half completely to place the thermal gasket. The hardest part was finding a torque wrench in the lower inch-ft range
