260 isnt too bad imo. If you can do it yourself it'll save you some money.

Just do it yourself.. If you are not comfortable with doing it yourself but want to learn I would be willing to help.

"Dealership says" doesn't always mean that you need it. Are you hearing your wear indicators going off or feeling heavy vibration under braking?

Yeah, you need to get it done NOW! It's not hard at all, you just need some jack stands and a few hand tools plus a 6-8" "C" clamp or a "disc brake tool" at any auto parts store (costs like $10). I have done mine three times now and it takes me about an hour and a half to do the front ones if I just **** around.

From what you described however, be prepared to buy new rotors. If you run them metal to metal for even a short time, it will cut the rotors beyond the point of resurfacing.

Here's a pic of the brake tool:

You use it to collapse the pistons into the calipers so the new pads will fit.

Jeez dude, well I have everything cept turning the rotors part..

We can take those down the street to:

Brakes Plus
1961 E Frankford Rd
Carrollton, TX 75007-5369
(972) 492-8025

or

D & D Automotive Machine Shop
1430 S Broadway St,
Carrollton , TX
(972) 242-6606

Call them up, and see how much it would cost to turn the rotors. All 4 of them, but we need to SEE what they look like - that sound may just be the lil metal indicators on the brakes to let you know they need to be changed..

As for pads, Ive got hawk HPS pads, and I love them...hardly any brake dust is my favorite. I think you have to order them online though..

Buy me some DOS XX's and learn an EASY DIY. BTW, you should never let the brakes get that bad BUT We just have to see..

I just got mine done at Outperformance Shop. It was $100 to install my new brakes and rotors all around. So it would be cheaper than that for just your front brakes. Also, OEM brake pads will prob run you about $50-60.

if you guys have a "brakeway" anywhere near your location..their brake jobs start at around 100 bucks..as for doing it yourself its a simple proccess and you could save a ton of money..you can also use C-clamps to compress your pistons
