On a normal basis, because PS3 is a more powerful rendering engine, you don't have issues. But on some games that are more graphic intense, like Dragon Age, (ported from a PC engine) then you're going to have small "glitches" where a PC can handle it w/ ease, given the right hardware (like a massive fighting scene w/ lots of characters).
PS3 is definitely the better, more powerful rendering engine of the 2 consoles, and I HAVE a 360. 360 would rather have smoother gameplay, that's why they compress their graphics more. I've seen Dragon Age on 360 and couldn't stand how much of the textures were missing compared to the PC.. There's no comparison..

yea, i know all about the graphics engine in the PS3...i remember drooling over it when they first started previewing the PS3 way back when.
if a game was originally designed for the PC, i will NEVER buy it for a console (PS3 or otherwise). like you said, it never matches up well at all. i don't know why that trend started, but i for one wish it would go back to the good ole days when a game came out for ONE system only....the whole trend now of having every game come out for PC/Wii/360/PS3/DSi/PSP/Sega Saturn/Atari is just getting a little ridiculous. pick a damn system and stick with it! all of these developers are sacrificing gameplay and overall quality for the extra $$$ that comes from additional sales on other platforms. it shouldn't come as a shock that many of the best selling games tend to come out for one system.....
can i get an Amen?!

Well heck, they have to compensate for all the piracy.. If you have a great game, why keep it from those that want it just because they don't have it on the console that you created it for? I'm actually glad they do that. Free enterprise. That way you can't necessarily make one gaming console better than another.. Just like PS3 decided to go w/ blueray instead of HD DVD to make themselves unique and have a stronger graphics engine.. It's not the games that should separate the consoles.. It's the technology.. Now Microsoft is making all these alliances to be able to port streaming media through your xbox (Netflix). I think those are great ideas for the consumers to benefit w/out limiting the entertainment by forcing you to buy one console for a specific game.

if any of you don't have it already, you NEED to buy Demon's Souls. it is only for PS3, but it is worth the money. this synopsis sums the game up very (and i mean VERY) accurately...

After beating Dragon Age last week I was aching for something new.. I decided to go back into the Bioware archives since DA was so good.. Wanted to see what else they had to offer. I'm playing Mass Effect now.. It's ultimately Dragon Age in SPACE!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.. there's so many parallels it's funny.. Mass Effect 2 is coming out this year (Jan 26), so I had to play it before that came out.. LOVE the gameplay, it's like an RPG meets Gears of war 2. You have to take cover behind stuff and you upgrade your weapons modules and level up your character as well.. GREAT GAME!!!
Dom, if you haven't played this one, you'll definitely want to. Once again, the GTS 250 is WONDERFUL.. Some things in this game graphically, I've never seen in ANY game, and it's almost 2 yrs old.
Here's a sample of the gameplay.. I just passed this part..
