Hey guys, just some advice. If you have to get into the door for swappin out the actuator or doing the window motor mod, you dont have to pull the window tracks off. Its easier if you put the window to where the 3 window bolts line up. Remove those and pull glass out. After that remove all bolts that go around the metal panel and that will come out as one assembly. So much easier this way. It give you complete access to inside and less bolt to remove

Help!

I got stuck at the last bit, removing the catch on the door lock that attaches to the lock actuator... does this mean the passenger door handle need to come off? from behind the door shell I spotted one bolt towards the front of the door handle plastic assembly, removed this = it wont budge, is there another bolt somewhere?

03' track... Soon to be race car.
Please dont forget the torx screw that alfhasg mentioned. The inside parts are only made of plastic, if you yank too hard they will break. I may have signed up a bit late but if you need any real advice, or help pm me, im an infiniti technician. I do this kinda stuff every day.

Hey guys,

Quick question. Is the lock actuator for a 05-07 coupe the same as in the 03-04? Thanks.

[QUOTE=JD_AND_DA_G_RIDE;4881304]Anyone here replace their actuators w/ OEM ones? I'm reading the repair manual and it looks like a pain in da @$$. I gave in and just got both of them..tired of living ghetto fabulous w/ no door locks. Let me know if anyone has changed them or a cheap place for labor although I'd rather do this myself.

And yes, I did a search on the forum but didn't really find any pics/vids on this.

I called my bodyshop I deal with and $80 bucks or so to do both doors, so I'm thinking that's a good price??? Anyone else chime in....

I did call Sewell just to see...$583.10 LABOR ONLY...and I asked again LABOR ONLY...DOOR LOCK?!? Yep...I love Sewell but shhht, are they smoking crack...

Thanks,
JD[/QUOTE

Anyone in DFW interested in getting together to do an "install day" on these door actuators? I bought a set from a board member here about 6 months ago and would like to replace mine, but would rather do it with some other folks to help and spread out the pain.

I'm in Flower Mound, btw.

G35 Coupe
door lock actuator replacement

Reviving an old thread.

Door Lock Actuators on my 2004 G35 coupe are getting weaker and weaker, don't work in hot weather anymore. Fuel filler door unlock is now erratic. Can still use key in door to activate, at least for now.

Z1 Motorsports sells OEM replacement actuators for ~ $250. I can't seem to find remove and replace instructions in Infiniti service manual.

I don't see a OEM replacement youtube.

Is there a good DIY available.....that shows a straightforward replacement ? Without having to splice wires ? or Drill holes ?

Thanks !

Cliff
