FUUUUUUUK! SUX! - Dizzle had similar experience (with the damn D-SPECS!!! - I recommend them all the time!)

Dude you hardly had those on for short period of time - I hope they have warranty? you didnt have them on for more than a yr and I know for a fact most manufacturers have at least a year for warranty.. how much for a replacement?

I'm sorry, but that was mildly funny yesterday. YES, the fact that it happened sucks. The undertray was barely mounted under there to begin with from what I saw. It's no surprise that it ripped off.

But come on...you have to laugh just a little at this point

so how many coils is that now for MDU?? I think thats 5 or 6 now...all converted to truecoilver setup right?

There is a prob wit the mdus n true coilover form. If u look a spring when its against the tophat it doesn't seat against it all the way around but will rest on the flange of the nut so that might cause some noise. Not sure, jake might b able to better explain but my thinkin is that the struts r bein worked to much in the oem form and are about blown when switched to true coil form. I'm curious to see somebodys that were put on in true coil form from the beginning

Chris - all of our noise problems started prior to converting to true coilover setup. It has nothing to do with that.

i wasnt referring to the noise..I was meaning blowing the coilovers....I personally dont think MDU coilovers can handle the true coilover setup over time.....there shocks are not built that way to handle it

Well chris mine blew in oem form, tonys blew right after goin to true coil form. Brit was on his for awhile before goin to true coil form, its hard to say if the strut is blowin while in oem form or cuz of true coil form.

If these fail on me - Im getting K-sports next ....I was really considering the drift spec too.. I need to have a SOLID setup.. Guess only time will tell..

That's the best idea. Have a backup. Ur d2 have held up well. Not sure how jareds setup was used before so no tellin if his were worn hard and put up wet. Lol. The people that have to dd their car r the more affected

understand but if there failing in OEM Form I would think moving them into True Coilover adds more stress on the strut to make it more prone to blow..thats what I would think...

I will probably have my ARK Performance Coils on hopefully next week...they are a track setup so I can let you know how they perform....12k and 11k spring rates.

Right chris, but my thoughts r the opposite. Lol. I figured the struts would work less since the spring is right there to take the force also. I'm no suspension guru that's just my thought

according to Stance, dampers are valved according to spring location. In the OEM location, the spring has a stiffer rate (10k I believe) and the strut is valved accordingly...which would be softer valving.

In true form, the spring rate is lower (7k) and the damper has stiffer valving. So if MDU has 5k in the rear, the damper should be valved fairly stiff either way. I would suggest MDU get on the ball about this. This is not driver/installer error by any part.
