The alignment after you install your coils will let you know if you even need the camber kit based on how low you drop..
Then if you DO get the kit, you'll need another alignment, but since you got the lifetime alignment you're good..
Bottom line, DROP THAT HOE!!
after i put on my coils my tires were shot even under 5k of driving afterwards, i didnt get an alignment after this because i came out here to the desert a month afterwards. Anywho i had to replace all 4 tires because they blew. Not all at the same time but darn close. On my way to the DFW from New Mexico is when i blew my first. Rear passenger. I think i was about 15 min away from Jacksboro. I really thought i had alot more life in the tries even though i could see a pretty big difference on the wear on the the inside of the tires. So i put on the spare and made it all the way to the other side of the DFW and the following morning put on a new tire. 2 days later im on my way to Austin on 35 and had just went through Temple. Rear driver decides to blow. Spare goes back on, replace tire in RoundRock. Make it all the way back to New Mexico and then the driver front decides to go then a week later the passenger front. At the time I didnt have alot of money to replace all 4 since i had just got the coilovers and the clutch and flywheel, i know i should have saved up a bit more money but i wanted them so bad lol But anyways to the point i have really bad camber. Looks sexy as hell but it does a toll on my tires. I have the SPC front and rear camber kit waiting for me at my apt when i get home so it will all be taken care of once they are on and i go get an alignment Originally Posted by twalls

Well there is an allignment shop about five minutes from my house and after I do this I'm heading up there for an allignment to be safe.
I wish my camber kit was here!
Just checked the info and it says it's in dallas now...but I'm not waiting any longer.

Started up this morning and crazy rough idle around 1800-2000 and it didn't settle down much after warm up, maybe 1200 at best. Soon as I left my neighborhood pull along a partially de-baged OB G, only emblems and the G, and some kinda exhaust and dark dark tint.... think the tails were blacked out pretty good to. Couldn't see in at all!
Anyway I got to the store about 6 miles down the road, did the throttle position learning procedure in the lot and immediately idle went to 600.
I guess it helps to be more sober than I was last night. Heh. Car is smooth as ever now... I think even better than before the install. Ohhh yeaaah!

Idle is high just a tad under 1000 but I'll do the throttle body reset procedure more tomorrow until I get it right. I only tried 3 times and don't think I got it. Now I'm tired.

Definitely. Now that I got the idle situation correct it feels weaker in a way, but more controlled. Last night when I would take my foot off the gas it wanted to keep going... no deceleration. It was kinda weird. Now it goes when I want it to and is so quiet at the red lights I'm amazed. Love it!
Oh... and driving below 50mph is like torture. It really doesn't like going slow. hehe.

Since you didn't get an alignment, your toe was off as well.. THAT is worse than camber and will eat your tires up with the quickness... Originally Posted by Th3R3dStar323

Also, depending on what tires you had, spacers or not, and how low you were dropped, your camber could have been worse than mine (I'm -3 degrees all the way around after my alignment)..
You also have to take into account:
1. the condition of your tires before dropping (mine were brand new),
2. how much driving you do on a regular basis (when I was driving my car, it was never more than 30 miles a day, and that was before I threw on coils.. after coils, I was driving around 5 miles a day, literally to the gym and back),
3. the atmosphere your tires were in (my car is garaged most of the time, so the environment doesn't get the opportunity to affect my tires directly.. Increase and decrease in temperature can affect the rubber as well as the internal pressure of your tires which can aid in decay)...
But most importantly your tires were probably most affected by the toe being off... I guarantee your tires were working against one another, and on a long drive from one state to another, that was ample time for them to give way..
I tell everyone what I was told when I dropped my ride.. Make an appointment for an alignment 1 week from the date you install your coils (the one week is necessary to let them settle a little, otherwise you'd need another alignment after the initial settling...taking the car any earlier than a week is just a waste of an alignment, and you'll then be driving a misaligned car and not know it.) 1 WEEK

Running into some problems with the front struts. How do I get the bolt off that's holding it at the bottom of the strut? It's an 07 sport suspension so the DIY isn't helping
Registered User
Same suspension. If you got the nut off and trying to get the nut off u need to have the front end on jackstands. Put the jack under the lower ball joint. Take off the nut for endlink. Lifft the jack til the tension is off the endlink and it pops out and same with bolt at bottom of strut

Ah gotcha okay. Did that and it worked thanks! Now how do I take off the strut? Is the removal of the upper arm necessary?

you'll have to remove one of the bolts on the arm so that you have some room to pull that strut out...mine were a PITA to get out
