LOL... I've been painting lights housings for many years now (~10 years I guess now - somewhat sad realization). Definitely no wiring like mr. rob here, but tons of painting for sure

No mods to the car (I am traveling right now), but I booked my hotel and bought 15 laps on the Nurburgring in Germany. I am stoked and can't wait. I am doing some work in Germany for two weeks in early April, and I will am going to spend the weekend at the Ring. I am still trying to figure out if I can take my rental car out like I did in the early 2000's or if I need to rent a "race" car (not really a race car, but a rental car allowed on the track).

The interesting thing about the Ring, and I am sure most of you know this, it is a public road anyone can drive on (it cost up to $30 per lap). It is just considered a one-way toll road in Germany. Anyway, just needed to share with someone (the wife could care less). The Ring is hands down the most demanding "race" track in the world at over 13 miles, 1000 feet in elevation changes, and 100's of corners. You just have to watch out for the tour buses and motorcycles..... It takes a GT-R a little over 7 minutes per lap (I ran 10-11 minute laps in my C200 Benz rental back around 2001).

Haha. I would take you with me if I could (actually I am working on one of our systems that we are deploying new SW on, and I could probably use a SW engineer. Do you know MS .net? haha).

No cameras are allowed, but they rent in-car video cameras. Depending on how much it is, I may do that. The hotel I am staying at is literally on the track, so I will get some good pics there, just not while on/near the track with my car.....

Here are the car choices. What do you guys think? I am leaning towards the VW Scirocco or the Renault Clio (sticking with the Nissan family).

Hate to say it, but I might lean towards the VW... though both are good choices
