It's putting irregular and unnecessary stress on the lugs and even with stronger studs, it's still not the best idea. It's best to just order the wheel with the right offset
I'm not sure if they've changed their policy, but last I checked, Discount Tire refused to work on a vehicle that had spacers on it. Too much of a liability.

No matter what, modding leads to other mods. Not all of them are safe. Buying bigger tires and wheels that have more rotational mass and weight require more braking force so a need for bigger brakes. Most people dont do it. We all push the limits some just more than others. Just have to understand the consequences

Its because people that work at discount tire probably shouldn't be touching cars...period.
I've had nothing but bad experiences with every discount tire ive been to, NATIONWIDE.
damaged wheels, scratches on cars, you name it.
But. The spacers debate will never end. I was driving hard on my G with 35 and 30mm spacers on my OEM 19s and never had a problem. Not even with the hubs.
This is where quality and craftsmanship comes in to play.

POLICY says NO with discount tire. know the Manager and FORMER VP of Discount Tire.....I have had mine worked on with spacers and without. All depends really on your relationship with the shop. I know the Mckinney guys and they will work on everything for me because they know that "I" wont make them be at fault for an issue with regarding spacers.
