^man I was out there all day Friday too.. I had to drop my car off the day before.. My back is KILLING me from all the squatting and standing of 2 days of shooting, and wiping off my car multiple times and running across the track cuz they weren't adhering to the schedule they laid out for the media..

DOH!!!

-Oil Change
-Cabin Filter
-Cleaned the Stillen K&N
-Restored the headlights (no more hazy headlights here!)
-Detailed the motor bay
-Gave her a good bath

This past weekend was spent on my 2004 G35 Sport Coupe 6MT. On Friday I installed a drop-in K&N filter to hold me over until I purchase NISMO Cold Air Intake. After installing the K&N filter I replaced the cabin air filter with an upgraded carbon cabin filter that I purchased from Grubbs Infiniti.

Then today I replaced the rear differential and manual transmission oil on my G to Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W-90 High Performance Gear Oil. After replacing the gear oil I spent about 6 hours detailing my G. She looks damn near brand new.

Oh yeah... I also restored my headlights and cleaned the engine bay a little bit. The drivetrain on my G runs a lot smoother now with the addition of the Royal Purple Max-Gear to the differential and transmission. Is it just me or does the stock gear oil on the G smell like you know what. All I could smell for half the day was dirty ol gear oil.

Might want to rethink the cold air intake, youre better off with that K&N.

One word... Hydro-lock..

I would recommend running this intake, its still a cold air but you don't run the risk of hydro-lock by having a filter all the way at the bottom of the bumper.

I have this on mine and have had it for about 3 years now. Its great, makes plenty of noise, and it was a noticeable difference on the butt dyno. Oh and best of all it still looks stock, which is the #1 reason I went with it.

Here is a pic of it on mine...

The NISMO cia is made by AEM and it includes their bypass valve. According to AEM this bypass valve virtually eliminates the possibility of hydro-lock. Has the NISMO cia caused any problems for anyone?

^Long tube intakes are usually a trade off of low end to top end power. Since our cars make great torque down low and mid, shifting the power to the top makes no sense since you won't ever want to be riding the rpms as high, IMO.

Plus I wouldn't even make hydro-locking a possibility, even with the bypass valve. Like Jackus said, you'd prob be better off withe K&N, or get a Z-tube and pop charger, which is what I have. Intakes are more for sound anyway since our stock airbox is efficient as is.
