[DFW] What have you done to your G Today?
#1426
This past weekend was spent on my 2004 G35 Sport Coupe 6MT. On Friday I installed a drop-in K&N filter to hold me over until I purchase NISMO Cold Air Intake. After installing the K&N filter I replaced the cabin air filter with an upgraded carbon cabin filter that I purchased from Grubbs Infiniti.
Then today I replaced the rear differential and manual transmission oil on my G to Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W-90 High Performance Gear Oil. After replacing the gear oil I spent about 6 hours detailing my G. She looks damn near brand new.
Oh yeah... I also restored my headlights and cleaned the engine bay a little bit. The drivetrain on my G runs a lot smoother now with the addition of the Royal Purple Max-Gear to the differential and transmission. Is it just me or does the stock gear oil on the G smell like you know what. All I could smell for half the day was dirty ol gear oil.

spechops... there was a guy here in the DFW area long ago that had the money and patience and tested each of the intakes. he can tell you (at great length sadly) that the stock air box with a K&N is by far the best bang for the buck and almost hard to beat power wise.
As an example, I used to pick on hound quite a bit when we had a big dyno day long ago. He won the NA challenge that day with the highest numbers, but he only beat me by 3 hp . All I had was plenum spacer and K&N drop in. His mod list was much larger. I also had the smoothest a/f line of the day.

no they're full slotted with "wipers" DBA 4000 series rotors
yeah but there's a lot more than just black in the finish. They were given a high polish before PC and the color mix has black, purple, blue, green, grey and a teeny tiny bit of flake.
Custom one off color ftw
Edit: the center cap is what they were originally. I kinda like the contrast between the cap and the rest of the wheel
