not that hard to do.....set the front and rear toe as close to zero as possible. Attempt to get the camber under -1.5 degrees. In some cases this just wont be possible due to spring droop. That should slow down the tire wear. Front toe is really key, the closer you can get it to zero the better.
The problem is our cars do not have camber adjustments from the factory. The adjustable upper a arms will solve this problem I got the ichuba's for about 250 shipped for the set and they seem to be a high quality pieces. So if you are wearing your tires investing in the adjustable a arms makes sense, especially if you are lowered.

Yes a camber kit will help. Once again though, the priority is setting the toe correctly. Castor doesnt wear tires, and camber wears at a very minimal rate. When you alter the alignment more toward a non-tire wearing setup, dont expect the car to handle quite as well. If you want to know more about alignments and handling i sugest reading "High-Performance Handling Handbook" by motorbooks workshop. Its a great source of information....even if you do know about cars.
Just had a reputable performance shop get front and rear toe very close to zero. No noticeable negative effects yet although I'm driving pretty modest right now. Thanks for your advice.
