update on my G35 issue (for those that know)

so yeah, a month ago, i developed a weird issue where my car was having fuel issues. Well, i didnt know this until recently. Well, since i travel, I only had 1 day a week to work on the car, so with the help of Steven (R1forever), we replaced my spark plugs, cleaned my maf sensor, put in test pipes, among other things... nothing effected performance. basically, it sounds like it's running on 5 cylinders with significant power loss and too much fuel.

well, sucked it up and took it to jotech today, and he plugged in his fancy computer, all the injectors were fine. compression came back perfect. he said my motor and supercharger are all in awesome shape, something is wrong with the tune/ecu. of course, he isnt a big fan of UTEC at all, so of course, they want me to switch to HKS F-con V-Pro, which is the bad *** of bad *** standalones. well, i dont WANT to spend 3k, so I'm sucking it up and paying Chris Macallero to retune and check the UTEC on mon. so basically i'm about 800$ in already.

if chris says it's not my tune, i dont know what i'm gonna do. there arent many options after that. My instinct is to go back to NA, but only if i've exhausted all my choices, and even then, i dont know if the car is gonna run perfect. I guess i'll find out on Monday.

PS Yes, i have taken the UTEC out of the equation, and it at first sounds like it's running a little beter, but then starts pooping again, but not as bad, which makes me HOPE it's the utec.

/rant

I'm still running the "stock" split second piggyback, without a crazy tune and uber horsepower it does the job just fine!

It really doesn't make sense that your tune would just change all of a sudden, it's just not possible really. Now that you have put in test pipes, it WILL need a re-tune just to be safe. Something else must have changed in order for your tune to be "out of whack" like the MAF sensor wasn't operating ideally during the last tune or the O2 sensor or something else. Perhaps just a bad tank of gas and the knock sensor is retarding timing like a ****...

That sounds damn expensive for a tune but that might be your cost for Jotech to diagnose also.

yeah that 800 is total i've spend on paying steven, jotech, future tune, and test pipes.

that's why i'm also skeptical that it's the tune, but i'm out of options right now. i'm hoping whatever it is, Chris finds something on the tune that he can fix. otherwise.......

and i have a very conservative tune, with stock PSI... for a reason. this is the first issue i've had in 7 months, but i also put about 10k on the car

Chris Macallero is a pretty cool guy, and definitely knows what he's doing. Have you called him and let him know what was going on? He may have some answers for you, and would probably check the tune for a minimal cost.

sorry to hear that things keep piling up man. i was really hoping when we were over at your place that the spark plugs/maf were the issue. i would HATE to see your G go back to NA...

good luck and i hope that things get figured out man.

yeah i wouldnt be getting rid of the car at all. mainly cause i'm upside down on it, but i'll honestly decide after the verdict on mon from chris.

yeah chris has been good help. he realy said he wanted to be the last resort, cause he really feels it's not the tune. let's hope he's not right....

and thanks for the support guys, that's why i love this forum.

PS people need to start posting on the facebook group more often!

You said that you took the utec out of the equation and the car still stumbled?

Have you thought on the possibility of a bad coil pack?

Yea we pulled the plug on each coil pack and on everyone of them it got significantly worse. I was gonna try and swap out packs but ran out of time. The idle is way low also but thats just my 2 cents
