Sounds like we need 10 people to get the $300 deal from Steve? and that's separate from getting Osiris? So we could either pay $600 for the 1st (group) tune + license... but what if we want Osiris standard?

Why does this confuse me so??? I'm sure it's great and all, I just don't get it.

I dunno... I have no license/cable. Someone tell me what's best and I'll do it. I would rather pay more now and save on future tunes because I will need more once I build the engine... and add boost... and soforth.

Hey rob, ask him if he would reccomend me getting the uprev instead of using the utech since we r gettin a crazy deal. I'm sure I can sell the utech for part to cover the uprev

I'm still checking on steve if our total number will count toward the shop license or if we need 10 people who don't have osirs but will need a license.

You will only need your own cable if you plan on doing your own data logging/tunning/clearing codes. this is $500 directly from Uprev

if you don't mind not having the cable you will only have to pay $300 to get your ECU licensed. once you have this you can take it to any tuner who uses uprev osris. They will have a shop cable that they can use to grab your ECU ROM to do tuning.

Steve is saying that if you get this tune through him with the group its $300, if you don't get it with this group its $450. either way a retune is $100 plus dyno time. You must first be licensed for a tune. that brings us back to that $300 license from uprev.

unless you buy a utec or other stand alone ECU, this is the only way to get tuned. and AFAIK the cheapest way. If you have a stand alone ECU you don't have to have a license and he can just tune on in. But the cost of these is usually more than the cost of the uprev license. so unless you get a smoking deal on a piggy back or standalone you should probably do this. especially if you want to retain the stock feel to your car that tuning through uprev offers (since its on your stock ECU)

so according to my counts (assuming Steven gets Uprev and drops utec, and everyone else is committed)

we have 7 that need a license and 2 that don't. which means we only need 1 more to make this thing a reality!

I can put this thread up on my350z and see what happens. I'd think there would be several over there that would love to know about this. I think my350z and g35driver play nice with cross-links. Cool? Or you can if you have an account over there. Doesn't matter to me... just think people would like to know.

Of course I mean in the DFW section.

I'd like to keep it here for now, no offence... My350z.com has scarred me in the past and I feel no loyalty to put all my time and planning in for them. Nothing against them, just had a bad experience over there. I'd like to help out my 'family', and I don't get that feeling from them when I'm over there. I especially don't want to extend a deal to them without the consent of Steve. He worked with me on the intake test so I feel like we have a special relationship and I don't want to risk that.

now there are some members over there who I would not mind at all jumping in (mainly cause they exist, post, and add to the community here. Namely Jake)

Cool. I understand. I've met a few local Z guys over there the past couple of months because of autox that are good guys. I haven't been involved in the larger forums there, but I've heard stories. heh.

OK.. I'm planning on getting SC next year after Mysti's paid off in August.. If I tuned now, I'd still have the $300 Osiris license, but I'd have to get a whole new tune wouldn't I and it'd be the FI price as well correct?

Just wondering if it's worth me getting the tune now or waiting till then..

I already have all the bolt ons that I'm ever going to purchase for my NA setup already, so if I did get the tune now it'd hold me until I went FI.. Still pondering dropping 600.. I know it's a great deal..
