Horrible day, help!

Hey guys I been having rattling/grinding noises every time I accelerate usually past 20mph and it gets louder as I go faster. It's really annoying and I need to find out what's causing this noise. I've searched and people have stated that it might be the heatshield but I was wondering which heatshield they were talking about?

At first I thought it was caused by my stock rims since they were beat up, but after changing to better rims it still does that. Anyone else experience the same problem??

And just to top off this wonderful day I went to Sam's off of I-20 to get my front tires changed, and they decide to take my car up the ramp that was higher than my front kit. So they end up breaking my chargespeed front, which I hope they pay for, and left alot of scratches on my black lug nuts which is also irritating

ouch csfront, just get them to replace it and keep your old one and sell it.. you might be able to get away with it. Could be your wheel bearings, the heatshield they are talking about I believe are the ones on your cats.

+1 on wheel bearings.. my front ones went out and it kept getting louder the faster i went. But it was a different sound than you describe.. it was more of a roaring sound. Not really a rattle or grind.

Get your car on a ramp... Get somebody inside the car rev the engine, while you try to locate the noise source underneath.

If it is underneath, something like a heat shield around your cats or some other bolt or some other piece might have come lose.
If the noise is not underneath the car, its then probably something under the hood. In that case, it might be a bit tougher to locate the source.

All the best yaar!
