I will keep my vehicles until the frame is bent or its completely dead..

everything
Not gonna knock them but those 2 examples are not vehicles Id want to own. If Im gonna drive soemthing I want it to be the most current bodystyle of that vehicle or one that has the newest technologies. But thats just me.

If Im gonna buy something older, its gonna be soemthing like a 69 Camaro or Olds 442 and resto mod it.

I usually get a newer car every 1-2 years, the G is the longest Ive kept a vehicle, pushing almost 3 years. I dont like sticking money into cars if theyre a daily and have over 100k on them. Just becomes a money pit. Guess I just get bored of cars fast, always something better to be bought. I already find myself looking at new Audis as my next purchase.

My dads old Chevy is older than me, its definitely not about "keeping up with the latest" ...to me at least

I'll eventually get rid of mine, but it will probably be going to the scrap yard from wreck. I've still got a lot of tracking to do.

I agree with Emad.

Jon (hound), Dave (ricerocketdave), Eban, Eban's cousin already sold their Gs.
Jack AND Brit are getting rid of their Gs.

There are al ot of other members who were active few years back who have gone MIA, so Im guessing most of them have got rid of their Gs.

Yup got rid of mine about 2 months ago and have not missed it at all. I guess I got burned out on it and the issues it was starting to have.

Ill post some pics of the new project and the things I have done to it later on.

i just made this to point out that some people spend so much on their car, make it completely impractical, and then try to part it out fast because they realize it's not fun to drive anymore cause it's bumpy, too low, pain in the azz, etc. and they will never admit that is the reason why.

or they get in over there head, and then try to get rid of it.

and yeah i dont get the whole "keep it forever" mentality. Not to say that it's wrong, but that usually goes away after a couple years of minor issues. it takes a level of dedication to "keep it forever", and most of the people i know who are just now buying older g's are buying em to try to look rich or cool in front of chicks (usually the younger buyers), who in 2 years will trade it in for an outdated beamer or something for the same reason.

btw, the g has not been a chick magnet car for years now. and if that's what you're doing to get girls attention, you need to reassess your girl criteria.

and now, i'm not calling anyone specific out. but i'm seeing the same trend here in MN. actually, here it's all about "the g is the elite car of the world!", it's kinda weird.

i think it also has t odo with financial situation, age, etc. i know at Motorola, i was making good $ and i outgrew the g quick. I wanted something a little less "racer boy", ie the c63 AMG or CTS-V, but now that i'm back to making average pay, i'm keeping it and hoping nothing goes wrong. until i start making more $ that is.
