Well said.. I was hanging out with the old school crowd before I even had a G. My buddy Vic got me hooked on the car and ultimately the people who were in the scene back then was a deciding factor for me buying one (you know back when they were expensive and it wasn't a "first car")

The scene just sucks now.. bunch of young morons. And of course there are always exceptions to that but the majority are idiots now.

Well, mine seem to be a chick magnet when it's nice and clean. Maybe that's what's wrong with yours? I'm not even trying to attract chicks but it gets attention period. Just yesterday a guy in a g37 gave me the nod and hand sign after getting an eyeful of my G all around and hearing it under a bridge.

lol you guys are just like old people constantly complaining about things "note being like they used to be" when your not doing anything proactively to make the community better. IMO talking about things like this just kills morale all together. Dont ruin it for the rest of us there's people still around such as myself that love their car and still have a lot to learn.

not married yet!!

and jae, trust me people havce tried to "make things happen". we tried getting people together for meets, but there was always some lame *** excuse to not show up.

i didnt say the scene is dead there, but no one is helping it, and it will be. a scene doesnt rely on people sitting on the web and searching for what they can do to their cars, it relies on meets, and doing stuff together for meets. granted, i know the winter is always kinda downtime, but even before then.

and fyi, i dont even live there anymore, so i dont really care much anymore. and the point of this thread was originally to say that people do stupid stuff to their car and then decide to sell it cause they went all mod-happy. I've been guilty of that too, but have come to terms with it now! haha

Yep, I'm in the same boat...I was making great money back in 03 when the G came out and I was lucky enough to afford to buy it new and have a vehicle no one else had back then...unfortunately I don't make as much anymore and have to make do w/ my high mileage G until a good opportunity comes by or I make more $$. On the flipside of that; I've never been one to be throwing money away like some people do just to keep up w/ the trend or appearances.

Well, I guess I am the odd ball of this group because I bought my G sedan from my father (who bought it new in 03) because he wanted to trade it for a newer car. I gave up my 4 year old VW to purchase his 03 sedan with 110K on it. Now, it spends a good chuck of time at the dealer as they breath life back into it aka it has turned into a money pit. I do not regret my decision because it drives so much better than my POS VW and it still brings a smile to face when I gun it. Nor did I purchase this vehicle to grab the attention of women. It was just too good of a car to leave the family just yet. I am only sad that it is only a matter of time I cannot buy her back from the dealership. So, I am going to enjoy the time I got left and I have already started planning on purchasing a new nissan/Infiniti. The only problem with that is that the price has gone up quite a bit on these cars.

Since I don't look at threads outside of the ones I'm already subscribed to, I never saw this one... I didn't really want to get rid of mine many moons ago, but it just made sense considering the situation. I bought it planning to get rid of it, but I do miss it sometimes. Future changes in my garage will help that problem though
