Polishing the supercharger

I got all my Vortech parts in. Everything looks good, but I really don't like the satin finish. So I decided to start polishing the parts. After a couple hours of polishing, I finally got the charger polished up. Now I need to do the intercooler and pipes.

You so need to run down that procedure cuz I am so polishing my intake plenum currently and it is going slowly and painfully. Any useful advice would be great.

First, go buy one of these.

The plenum is really rough, so you will probably need to begin with 120 grit and work you way up to 400 grit. Be careful with the 120 grit it cuts through metal fairly quickly and you don't want to have any low spots.

Then stop buy an auto parts store or Walmart auto section and buy some automotive wet sandpaper 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit. Wet sand starting with 800 and then ending with 1000 or 1500. You can use 2000 grit if you feel that there are some really fine scratches that you want to get out, but the next step should get those out easily.

Go buy one of these:

or any other high speed polisher/buffer with a bonnet. A porter cable polisher is even better.

The last step is to use some metal polishing compound and polish with the high speed polisher to bring out the shine. Having the right tools helps a lot.
