Angry 1/4 mile time

i was at LACR last night and my best time with my 04 coupe AT was 15.3 if you factor out elevation that comes to 14.8. why am i hitting 14.8? i did 5 runs and 4 out of the 5 were the same.

were you spining out alot? Did you try preloading at around 3K? (if possible) my best time with the MT was with minimal wheel spin but some is needed for the launch.

Big heavy wheels and tires + AT = slow 1/4 mile

reaction time doesnt play into your actual quarter mile. it only means you left when it was green, but how you left is important. but heavy wheels and AT gearing is key, you might consider getting different final drive gear to get better acceleration.

what was your 60'? I ran 14.45 after altitude adjustments stock with a 6mt at lacr. so your time with a auto is probably right. If you improve your 60' you will run much better times.

That is a tough track to run fast times. So dont let that track get you down. Its just slow. When fontana opens back up try it there. I ran a 13.5 AT LACR which adjust to 12.9 but I actualy run 12.9 at california speedway so it is a more enjoyable experience.

I did 14.4 at 98 mph with my 03.5 5AT Sedan with just a Z-tube last year. I gave it back though cuz it was a lease. I ran at ATCO in Jersey
