whats a good rpm to shift at?? when i mess around driving around town i shifted close to redline like 5500 rpms ?

That's nowhere near redline... However "driving around town" that’s a normal range.

At the track you should be nearly 1000 rpm higher. I have TS ECU flash and shift high 6K

On the street - do what is safe.

For ATs an aftermarket Torque Converter, Shift Kit, Tune, and some DRs and watch that time drop by at least 1/2 a second. I guarantee it.
