new times with kinetix plenum on

I went to lacr yesterday to test my kinetix plenum and here are the times that i got. the white sheet says: 14.700 @ 94.989mph. Conditions were pretty much the same as the last time and this time my spare tire and tools were in the car. I have been at the drags about 8 times and every single time my best time is the first run.

This is the sheet.

This was my best time without the kinetix plenum and spare tire and tools removed.
60 time 2.237
14.788 @ 94.496

So the conclusion is the kinetix plenum gave .1 lower 1/4 mile time and 1mph higher trap speed.

How are you calculating for the air density and altitude? I don't think I can correct for the density since I'm FI but I can correct for the altitude. The best for me that night was 13.39@106 my best at LACR was 15.1 N/A (non corrected) with a cracked V2 kinetix plenum.

Nice runs, Klubb. It's good to see there are others out there that test their mods under the timing lights. Thanks for the info.

Interesting results. Was your first pass after a cooldown? My experience shows my car likes to be hotlapped and the times improve.

NO actually whenever i go to the track i go and stand in line right away without a cooldown, this track there is hardly line when it just opens so when i get there i go strait to the runway. I think its the type of tires i have which are goodyear dsg3s. When they are warm, like right after the drive to the drags, they grip great but when i let the car cool down the tires cool down too so i never can beat my first run.

Is your time corrected? since I believe it is kind of low for this kind of weather + a 6MT?

since I thought a stock 6MT should be a low to mid 14s car.

^check my sig, Its the corrected time for having 14.789.
So right now im about 14.09 at about 100mph.
Do a search for LACR track and u will see that no N/A car broke the 14.7 barrier at that track no matter the weather.

"fast going" mods are JWT intake and Z-tube, custom exhaust, and the kinetix V plenum.

14.9 was bone stock time. With less the 10k miles on the car.

looks like the mods have done something.I will probably still go with the kinetix plenum.do you have the first version or the latest one that came out.most people on this forum experience some problems with the first version.but havent heard any neg's on the revised one.

^I have the latest version and the only problem that i had on it was the coolant entrance to the plenum was loose and it caused to the car to overheat. I changed that bolt and the problem was fixed.
I bought the plenum used so i don't know what the previous owner did with it.

Mine too which seems to throw this whole notion that these cars need to be dynoed under the most controlled conditions. My trapspeed hardly varies between runs, hot engine or cold engine.
