any ideas as to what else i can do to my car to get a bit of a better 60ft? Would ltweight pullys help me out in the bottom end and getting through 1st gear a bit faster? What i realy need is a bottle in my trunk or some boost.

HOW AND WHEN are you launching to get a 2.1 60ft?

I cant get better than 2.3

Does altitude affect 60 ft too?

Not really. In most cases it's negligible since its such a short distance.

Some tracks are just badly prepped and won't allow you to get anything under 2.2 for our cars. But most of the time, it's usually the driver. Just get more practice and play around with different methods of launching.

It could be the track because every 6-7 runs a car blows out.. Oil everywhere.

Gotta keep practicing!

not sure if altitude affects 60ft too but i would assume it does...

I think i could have done a bit better, but anyways heres my process

1. line up, throw the car in neutral and rev it to about 4.5k rpm and push the brake pedal in as deep as it goes
2. once the revs have come down, throw the car back into drive, then into tiptronic.
3. once the lights start comming down the tree i push the gas once the yellow lights start comming down the tree to preload it without holding it for too long and heating up the transmission, and once it gets to the last yellow light i take off.

its all a very quick process. i dont like to stall it for too long because i feel like the car leaves the line slower if i do, thats why i do a quick stall then go. I also do it quick because i dont like to heat the transmission up and get more drivetrain loss.

and if your spinning too much off the line, try letting some air out of your tires.

hope that helps.

and if thats not enough try taking out the back seat!

I use basically the same process as Gary and I usually see mid to high 2.1s. It still feels slow as hell though. If we could get around the Nissan throttle Nanny, these cars could get 2.0s pretty easily.

Wow 7k?! Dont we stop making power at ~6500RPM?

automatics benefit from shifting at 7k rpm because of their longer gearing.
