an SRT 8 will beat a G but not by much. Its the WEAK 3rd gear our 3.3 auto has that messed it up.
You ran an R/T. If you really ran an SRT, then he was messing with you. And SRT will flat out destroy a g. The SRT's can run high 12's stock, at at least 108mph.

Show me a g that traps 108 off the bottle.

That SRT8 probably didnt start to race right off the line cause man thats a not so true thing to say that your saying... so basically your saying my 13sec car, you can beat in a vq thats auto (at that)???seriously???

Ok guys I understand this is a G35 site. But WE must state the Obvious a 425HP V8 will OWN a 3.5L 280HP V6.....(Both stock of course)

I have never had the opportunity to race an SRT8 However I have raced my 02 Z28 against my G coupe.. Both cars are auto and the Z28 just kills it... And that is a 5.7L 325HP V8.

PS. Dodge/chrysler dose have a new line called SRT design which makes the car look identical to the SRT's with out the upgraded engine.

My bad, musta been badged as an SRT then.. The only reason I thought I was able to keep up is because his car is VERY heavy. G is heavy too

That guy had SRT 8 badging by the fenders and on the trunk so I assumed an SRT 8.. I could really hear his V8 exhaust tone too.

I've raced a Charger R/T with an intake at the strip two times. I was stock, unless you think a Z-tube does anything, and was pulling 14.3s@98mph with mid to high 2.1 60 foots. The R/T was getting 14.0-14.1@98mph with 2.0 60 foots. From 0-40 he'd get me and then it was even the rest of the way (him about 2 cars on me). My G just couldn't match the launch of that V8. If he would have had the typical 20-22" rims that most of the 300C/Magnum/Charger cars have, I'm certain I'd be beating him.

a guy at work got a Charger RT as a company car... he new I was into modding and racing the G and asked me to drive it and see what I thought... for a bone stock car its got some ooomph but nothing neck breaking - my G would destroy it with a doubt. Stock for stock it might be close, but I think the Charger is sooo heavy the G would probably win.

The Charger only has all that power to move the heavy pig. Its basically a cruiser not a race car.

The Challenger!!! That’s a whole other story! I need to go drive one! SOON!!!

R/Ts, Magnums, and 300Cs are all easy low 14 second rides with quite a few owners dipping into the 13.8 range.

have you driven one? You get a real feel for what its capable of when you put it through its paces...

I can assure you that a stock RT is not going to dip below 14 on the tracks out here... mid 14s are more like it. So posting track times doesnt mean much - since as you are aware every track is going to yield different times no matter what the power is. So to say a Charger RT runs a 13.8 makes it seem real fast... put it on Autoclub Dragway and it wont get anywhere near that.
