g35 vs mustang
By down the drain, do you mean the only American car company NOT to ask for any extra help after the bailout terms were reached, or do you mean the only American car company that can survive well into 2011 at its current rate? ORRRRRR do you mean going down the drain by producing 5+ NEW model designs due to release this summer and fall? Or, do you mean down the drain as in they have beat both Honda and Toyota in resale value, reliability, and initial quality since 2005? Or down the drain like they're producing at LEAST 2 BRAND NEW MOTORS (one will be the supercharged V6 going into the MKS and MKT<<<<----new model)Which one do you mean. I know different people use "down the drain" differently. OOOOOOORRRRR are you just assuming that they're going "down the drain" because they're American? Or, do you mean down the drain as in their owners don't seem to be able to read.

Nissan almost went "down the drain" in the late 90's early '00's....but everyone forgets when a foreign automaker nearly goes bankrupt, but will never let anyone forget when a domestic automaker does.
I agree with you that Ford is the only one of the big three in good shape, but it's tough for them to shake their poor quality rep of the 80's and 90's even though their quality in the last 10 years has topped out many foreign automakers including Nissan.
But that's blasphemy around here
