i ran at GLD, my first run was my best run of the day. i was thinking next time i'm out, i'll air up the tires to 40-45psi in the front. and leave it in manumatic with another 2500rpm launch.

i let the car shift on its own in 1st and once in 2nd i made the shift to 3rd, i'm looking at your MPH trap, if you get 14.34 @ 97 and one of my traps were 96 somewhere down the line i'm not going as fast as i should. Oh well i'll learn when i go again.

You'll definitely need to get your 60' time down. Anything above 2.2 is no good.

everyone says that and i know thats the key to having a low ET but how is the main thing, other then sticky tires, I dont think i'm spinning at all.

Maybe you're letting off the brake too slowly?

And actually, I just noticed you were running two different sized tires in the front and back. That may have something to do with it.

GLD isnt known for its spectacular track prep either. Ive done about 15 passes there and spin everytime on sticky tires. My best 60' I was able to get was a 2.15 which resulted in a 14.6 @ 96. Im going to try Byron this year and see if I can get some better times, only problem they are only open on the weekends.

yeah GLD is about an hour away right off 94. GLD on a weeknight is nice, they are open until 10pm and you can usually get alot of runs in.

Nice runs guys, I wonder what I'll run

Kn&n drop in, Ztube, 5/16 iso spacer, labree High flow cats, Borla catback... Hopefully tuned before I go to track...

On the regular I play around with 2nd gens from dig. I launch at around 2800rpms, from roll I pull good 2 cars on stock second gens... Im really Feening to go to track...

My car barely chirps tires, but depending on the floor surface I had 2nd gear chirp... Im hoping to get closer to mid-high 13s at track... OR should I hope for better?

and what else is there for weight reduction, besides spare, tools, bottom of rear seat... taking a big dump... runnin without air filteR?

Seems to me like 14.3-14.5 is possible if you get that 60ft down to 2.0. I would assume it shouldn't be that hard with an X and those rear tires. But I've never driven the X so I can't say for sure.

97 MPH is a healthy trap speed for a 5AT with AWD (G35x).

If you were to get that 60 ft down, you will have some nice times for an X.

i've been going a lot of googling and with a trap speed of 97 i've seen people go as fast as 14.1 in a 01-GS430 but on average 14.3's. i'm one of the slower speed 97mph.

a lot of people had low 60's but no one really posted on how one can lower the 60's, a couple of mustang forums were telling one guy to lower his car to aid in the weight transferring of the car and move the battery to the back but i think thats for RWD cars that are spinning tires.

Next time i'm at the track i want to go and have a couple of plans of attack to achieve something respectable. I feel 14.84 is not close to respectable. i'm definatlly going to do the 1-2 shift on my own this time and air up the front and possibly the rear tires too. if my car doesn't make a noise at 2500, i'll try bumping it up to 2800. I take a poop before i go.

I'm going to GLD in like 2 weeks, which is somewhat known as a slower track, I think i've heard it being on a 3 degrees incline.

Floor mats, minimal gas, washer fluid, car manual, going commando, etc.

I was trapping 97 MPH but couldnt do any better than a 14.7 the first time at a track. Trap and ET depends on soooo many factors. I never heard GLD having an incline, thats interesting. Now Byron on the other hand, looks like a downhill track

As long as U have good Front Brakes Launchin the X at 2800 is a walk in the park, We'll at least for me it is so you shouldnt Be any different...

I've ran with a few 545i bmws and theyre knowing for low 14s and I pull away from them A LOT harder then I pull away from 2nd gen Xs. If I launch at 2800 I can Easily Wait till He Takes off Launch after and Catchin it Isn't even hesitation.

Now Im running 350z 18s with stretched 225 tires all around, Not the best for traction, lol but last night I did a few pulls with one of my friends in the car, and he was speachless, Runs were from dig no launch and from 10-20mph roll. I chirp 1st gear from roll and 2nd...

Best Pullin mods so far on my car were, 5/16 spacer, and Highflowcats.
After 5/16 I feel like The car still runs strong at redline and I can easily shift at 71-7200 without the car boggin down, and When I hit 2nd its like Instant *****, just pulls.

I might get rid of my exhaust since i didnt really feel any benefit from it besides compliments from people lol

US41 in Morocco, IN.

I don't go down to Indy much, last time I was down there for anything car related was last fall. I see you're a tech at D & R. I took my car down there once to check my AWD light and ended up having to replace my transfer case.
