14.839@ 91 stock X

Went out to the track yesterday, had 2 runs by myslef and then i let the GF have some fun.

Bone stock 2005 G35x with navi.
- 350z track wheels, 225/45 F good year eagle f1, 265/40 R Michelin pilot sports
- took out spare and lower part of the rear seat, 1/4 tank of gas.
- i let the car shift on its own in 1st and i did the 2-3 shift and somewhat redlined the end.
- VDC was off

I launch at 1500

R/T .525
60' 2.417
330 6.410
1/8 9.664
MPH 75.65
1000 12.464
1/4 14.834 @ 91.52

2nd run was at 1800

R/T .221
60' 2.395
330 6.417
1/8 9.688
MPH 75.06
1000 12.502
1/4 14.859 @ 96.95

3rd run i launch at 2500 and with GF in car

R/T .325
60' 2.312
330 6.390
1/8 9.696
MPH 74.43
1000 12.542
1/4 14.917@94.57

the GF ran like 15.311 because she let off 1st time and then a 15.04 she launched from idle and me in the car.

So what do you guys think? judging on how i trapped 96 in the 2nd run i feel the i should of grabbed a lot lower time. The car felt like it launched great, not much wheel spin i just took off. i'm not launching at 2500 anymore, the car was making a noise that i didn't like. I just don't know why my 60's suck.

I saw another silver 05 g35x with navi out there and the best time he had all day was 15.35, i didn't talk to the guy.

I had a blast, saw a couple of fast cars out there, a 7.8 sec dragster, 10.50 z06 that looked completely stock. couple TBSS take out those G8 GT

I made my first pass ever today too in my car

Bone stock '06 G35x. Stock wheels, stock rubber, full size spare, full tank of gas and 50 pounds of tools.

VDC off, shifting myself manual

Best run of the day

R/T .050 (running a .000 perfect light)
60' 2.172
330 6.197
1/8 9.493
MPH 74.35
1000 12.334
1/4 14.712
MPH 94.61

My other runs were all 14.8's. I had consistent 2.1 60-foot times all day even with the additional weight of fuel, spare and tools.

I wish i had only had 1/4 tank of gas and took the spare and tools out...but oh well.

PS, I was the only G35 on the track. So it was kinda cool to hear people snickering about why I was there...and then shut up when they see i was running faster than they were.

I actually participated in a charity bracket race with my G35. I took down too mustangs head-up before having to lose a round on purpose because I needed to head out. My friends were pissed i was beating them (heads up and bracket-racing)

easily you can pull a 14.2-14.3 with mods.

looking at this mustang should of been able to shave .1-.2 off his time if he took the tools, spare and gas out the car. what was the simple rule of thumb every 100lbs can shave off a tenth roughly?

I just dont have a reason why i didn't get 14.6ish other then i suck...

my GF took a mustang v6 out twice without trying, it had headers to make it sound like a v8 but no go.

Your 60's seem a little slow? You were pulling 2.3-2.4 second 60-footers while i was pulling 2.1's consistently all day long. How were you launching?

A tenth off your 60 footer equals maybe a tenth and a half down the other end.

I was two-footing it at the line bringing my revs up to about 2500RPM as the yellow began to light. On the last yellow, i let off the brake and floored it and took off without any spin or chirp or anything.

96MPH is def good for a 14.3-14.5 ET.

I doubt i'll ever race mine again at the track. I was just curious more than anything. Hopefully the next time i go, i'lll be racing my Mustang

i did what you did. only had 3 runs. to me it felt like i didn't spin.

i didn't rev to 2500, i posted what i rev each time. when i held the rev at 2500 it made a couple of klunks that i didn't like thats why i didn't try again.

Odd, i didn;'t notice any noise. I only did it for a second. I reved up on the 2nd to last yellow and let off the brake on the 3rd yellow.

I got my runs on video

Best run

Other runs

And for the hell of it, the coolest pass at the day.

Green Mustang goes 10.4 @ 123MPH
Yellow Mustang goes 10.4 @ 146MPH and is street driven, with full interior, stereo, and A/C. Car's gone as quick as a 10.01 before.

I went to the track for the first time today. My first pass, I ran a 15.8...

I got ALOT of runs in, so I can give you guys a few pointers to shave off your time.

As mentioned before, VDC off, spare tire out, 1/4 tank of gas, brake torque at launch, and USE MANUMATIC. First few runs I let the car shift itself. When I switched to Manumatic, I saw my trap speeds increase about 3MPH.

Not sure if it's just because my car is tuned on Osiris, but when I jam my foot all the way down on the brake, and then jam the gas all the way down. I get a "rev limiter" thing going, and my car hold steady at around 2300RPM, even though the gas is all the way down.

Eventually, I ran a 14.3459 @ 97.38 MPH, DA corrected 13.958 @ 100.152 MPH. Huge improvement from my initial 15.8.
