it wasn't even the newest model.. probably like a 08 model..
it was pulling away slowly but surely.. god.. the vq sucks..
i lost to a civic si (new ones) too..

both cars are suppose to be slower than my vq... i hate it..

still getting 24+ mpg.. but still..

 

Something is wrong with your car then. My bro has a fusion 3.0L and I blow him off the line with ease. It's not even close. The VQ has much more HP than a Si as well. Check your spark plugs and air filter and throttle body and work from there.

stop filling up 87, get your car maintained regularly or stop racing. Ever heard of a term called "tune up"?

 

BTW used to smoke the SIs by shifting directly from 2nd to 4rth because my 3rd gear was went out during the race and i still smoked him.

 

Either theres something wrong with your car or you can't drive a stick(if its 6mt) or a combination of the two.

my car is auto. stock 03.5, 103k miles.. i have the OEM spark plugs ready to be installed.. my car's maintenance is up to date.. well.. everything except the rear differential fluid..

i only pump premium.. car runs pretty well.. smooth.. no doubt..

kinda sad really.. this was on a private track.

i just smashed the gas pedal and prayed.. and my prayers went unanswered.. i haven't raced in years.. and now i know why...
