heres the numbers for some of the other forum members but i think they have all driven before. I really dont think that guy is running a 15 sec quarter though. how did you end up with that number?

Like everyone else is saying, he knows he can beat you. I used to have a neighbor with a turbo diesel f350 and then a f450, he put on an aftermarket exhaust, bigger turbo/intercooler and used a power programmer. Both of these trucks had duellys and he could easily brake torque and burn the hell out of the tires and road. We raced a few times, at the time I had a Ridgeline so take this for whats its worth, but we were on a two lane road once and I had my truck floored and he only had his at slightly over half throttle, I was floored up to 60 and he was still right on my ***. Further, he said he could run a 11sec 1/4 - I'm not sure about that, but it was fast. He had told me that that truck had close to 700hp and 1100ft/lbs.
So the OP, tells us his "challege" and then didn't want to accept unless its a for sure win. He asked our thoughts and we told him no dont do it but he goes aheads and accepts the offer.
What the hell is the point of this thread then. THE BEST YOU can run is 14.2 STOCK. The truck can run anything he can. It doesn't take much to run 14.2, a new camry can do that, a 250awhp/250tq evo, STI can run mid-low 13's that.
His truck at WORST is running like a 18, he is tuned with a built trans and injectors. Meaning he added a LOT more boost. The fact that he has a built trans means he isn't playing around. Your average modder just does a tuner flash for more power. This guy went all out. A silly 14.0 flat can smash you, it doesn't matter if he weights 3times as you he has about 2.5 times your power. I would not be suprized if he has about 650tq.
kiss $500 good bye, dont ask a forum if your not going to listen to the answers.

I think ur about to get raped. lol That diesel truck will hook ur car on its back and still will run the 1/4 faster then you, if its bolton and tuned.
Why dont u share what truck it is.

15's???
He's running 11's, or low 12's. He's gonna powerbrake off the line, spool up, spew tons of black smoke and then leave you like you are sitting still.
You lost your $500 pretty much. Turbo-deisels can be made VERY fast fairly easily.
I ran 14.6 stock with my AWD...which is slow. A good chunk of family sedans run 14's these days.

He ain't running 11s or 12s with that diesel setup. It takes a retarded amount of power to go sub 13s in a diesel truck. There are bonestock diesels out there that make 350hp+/700ftlbs+ and they run high 16s or so. To go sub 13s in a diesel truck typically takes a larger turbo, propane injection, plus all the typical mods like exhaust, tuning, built auto etc. These trucks are typically pushing 1,200 ftlbs+ and 600hp.I've run and seen a fair share of typical bolt-on diesels at the strip. In most cases, they run anywhere from high 13s to low 15s. We have a newer extended cab GMC twin turbo at my strip that does mid 12s@108, but he has about $15K in the built motor.
As for the G35 sedan auto and racing this truck, my 03 sedan 5AT did a low 14.3@98mph with a Z-tube. This truck will probably do low to mid 14s. I wouldn't do it.
I wouldn't take that bet. I'd be skeptical if it was MY car.
He has a built tranny. He's going to powerbrake the hell out of it, and launch hard. You'll have to play catch-up.
I have 3 power mods, but it took a lot of practice, and sea level DA, before I got my auto down to a 13.90. There is a lot more to driving an auto G35 than meets the eye. Have you ever done any 1/4mi runs?
If you're really going to go through with it, strip the car of absolutely everything: front passenger seat, rear seats, trunk lining, spare, everything. Do the door cards if you're really ambitious.
When you go to the track, take some air out of your rear tires, make sure to heat them up. I know people say not to heat up street tires, but when I ran in the fall I would spin hard if they weren't warm. Bring an ice pack to help your car cool down if you've driven a while to reach the track. Make sure your transmission cools down as well. Ensure that basic stuff like spark plugs/air filter are clean. Replace if they're not. Only put in about a quarter tank of premium when you run. Do you run premium all the time? If not, run a tank through it with 93, and be sure the car adapts b/c there is a difference.
What year is your car? If you have the tiptronic that shifts for you, leave it in "2" off the line, and shift from 2-3 yourself. Since you're stock, I doubt you'll have to shift into 4th. Ride out 3rd until the end. You can get to about 6700-6800 before it starts to bang off the limiter. When I shift to 4th I can get it rev to about 6800-6900 if I shift at the right time.
Why don't you throw in a spacer and an Aramid gasket for good measure. Those mods are relatively cheap ($250 spacer, $50 Aramid gasket). He won't know the difference.

with my g back in the day i ran a 14.5.
with my sti with a built bottom end and heads, and a bigger turbo, i ran 10.8 @ 132 on e85.
with the sti i lost by a couple cars to a turbo diesel truck running who the hell knows what.
