best 60' time possible?
what do you guys think is the best 60' time on a stock G35 coupe 6m/t or 5a/t? what are your guys current best 60' times? post if you have a 6m/t or 5a/t. thanks. i want to see how i compare...
The best 60' time is the lowest you can achieve. This really depends on traction, driver, hp etc. With a stock G35 on factory tires 2.00-2.05 is very good. Automatic cars are easier to launch and are much more consistent. A manual trans car requires much more driver experience to get a good time. Its frustrating because too much rpms will cause spinning and not enough rpms and the car will bog.
Good Luck!

low 2.1s with mine hey bobby d i thought my 14.2 was fast for bone stock and mine is at 95 mph that is an incredible time if its true i mean we have a corvette that runs 13.3 at 100 and thats pretty fast

From what I have seen, at least with the Autos, 2.1s are the best due to the stall converter limiting how hard you can launch without bogging if too soft and engaging TCS/VDC if too hard...course when I was running my best times (Rigt b/f Bobby beat me to the 13s
)I had litterally obliterated my left rear tire and was spinning through 3rd gear's upshift going down the track, but b/f that no matter what I did I was bogging...even with the VDC fuse removed.

2.216 is the best I've ever gotten in my stock '04 5AT coupe. I've tried all kinds of variations on the launch -- different amounts of torque braking, tire pressure, burnout/no burnout, etc. My best launches seem to come after a very quick (1-2 sec) burnout (on PS2s with about 11K miles), then torque braking to about 1200rpm or so. I've never had a problem with traction, even with tire pressures in the 40s. All my runs have been at Portland International Raceway.
My G35 sedan is basically stock except for the Z pipe. My best 60 foot is a 2.15 on really short 24" BFG Drag Radials though I don't think they helped me much because my car doesn't have traction problems at my track even with the Turanza EL42s. My best on the EL42s is a 2.21 60'. All I do is put my foot on the brake and bring the revs up to 900rpms to remove the slack in the drivetrain, then when it's time to go, I mash the gas and almost instantly remove the brakes. That results in about a 2000-2200rpm launch. I think low 2.1 60 foots will be attainable for my car on the EL42s in cooler weather. When I went to the track it was in the low 70s. My 96 Maxima with the VQ30 was always .2 and 1.5mph quicker and faster in the 50 degree weather vs 70 degree weather. I'd like to see some 14.2-14.3s@98mph+, basically stock. That would put me in line with what the 6 speed 350Zs are running at my track. I've already surpassed the trap speeds of a friend's 6MT G35 at my track (14.47@96.8mph with a 2.11 60'). I think 2.1s are about the limit for the auto with the stock stall.
