There is a great "step by step" for launching both the 5AT and the 6MT (round the lower half of the page).

Went back to the track and can finally get that damn 15.1 off my back.
Best time on the 1/4 14.623 @ 96.98
Got a better trap speed - 97.24 - but with a worse time. Guess I'll need to go back again.
Ya know - ya gotta love the winter weather! LOL! That night was about as cold as it gets around here with the last few runs of the night reading about 35 degrees on the car temp gauge.
Good luck to anyone still trying to break a better time - it can be done!

Not uncommon at all.
With bad launches you will usually get slower ET's but faster trap speeds.
In a sense with a bad launch your car has "more" time to build it's speed up.
Take AWD cars for an example. They launch really good and get to the
60' mark really fast. This, in part, is why they have such great ET's but
often times slower trap speeds.
Not saying you can't but it would be rare for you to post your best ET's
and best trap speed on the same run.
