Went to the track, AGAIN. This time it was mid to high twenties. This time I had 1/4 tank of chevron(different station from last time). This time I took everything out of the trunk. Everything.

Had 16 runs.
9 runs with traps > 100.
8 runs with 2.1 60 foots.
1 run with a 2.100 sixty foot, but I missed a shift on that run, so who knows what my ET would have been.
5 runs of 13.8 ET's.
Best trap of the night: 103.16.

So, a 13.791@102.22 at roughly 25 degrees. I'm sure that's a negative density altitude, so even in "perfect" conditions, my times would be adjusted *up*. Screw that. A 13.791 is still a 13.7 to me.

So, am I going to get better times? Not in my current trim. And especially not on my all-season street tires.

nice times man, i just went to the track here in orlando, this track spins a lot off the line, i had 6 runs trapping 101, 13.9 was my best time though, i just traded in the N20 sedan for a 03 touring Z, i just have my plenum spacer and a K n N so its still pretty stock.....

only pulling 2.2s to 2.4s just got the car two days ago, so havent figured out the best way of launchin without hitting WOT too soon

I can't wait to complete my transfer to Atlanta in January so that I can make some runs at your track. My track in Kansas City shuts down in November and even then, they won't race unless it's above 45 and sunny. I won't miss that.

Yes, flat out amazing conditions and they are mostly responsible for your improved ET/MPH, but still, you run what you run. Period.

 

Congrats on breaking into the 13's! Have you kept count with how many times you have been down the track? It has to be in the 125-150 range by now

 

Thanks man. I didn't just get into the 13's, I got a few tenths in there. I was *so* happy last night. After last night's runs, I have no been down the track in some form(1/8th or 1/4) 87 times.

I'm much more experienced than that first trip we all had. But I'm a little discouraged that it took that many runs with these kinds of conditions to get into the 13's.

Not bad at all considering you just started this summer. My baby is in the shop right now having the front bumper re-painted (firiggin rock chips all over it). I finally got the daily driver so now she won't have to take all the abuse from the commute to work. Huge improvement! You know you just want me to go so you can put a beatin on me However, care to join me on the twistes one Sunday afternoon?!

Glad you found a beater to drive daily. You have quite a haul to work everyday so I am sure that will help out TONS. Who is doing your bumper? Is it that guy Lee knows in Bessemer? Just curious since I am in the same boat you are with the chips but no daily driver to use instead.

 

Yes I did Best time was 14.349. Will post more soon - too tired last night and still not awake enough to dig out the slips and go through them today.

We did our runs starting at about 10:30pm and going until 1:00am. While the temp was likely close to the same during that time I am 90% certain that the humidity was higher as the night went on. By the time we left it was starting to fog up a little so we were getting close to the dewpoint for the night.

 

You know it! Yeah, same guy. Goolsby custom and collision, he is supposed to be great, down side...he's is smack dab in the middle of the hood! However, he does store the cars inside THANK GOD!
