WARNING: JWT Flywheel needs dowel pins
So, a few weeks ago I purchased a used JWT flywheel, and a clutchmasters stage1 clutch. Last week I was on vacation, so today was my first opportunity to have them installed. To my surprise, the local dealer quoted me $100 than the next closest shop, so I took it there.
About 3:30 this afternoon I got a call saying the mounting holes in the flywheel were larger than the oem dowel(sp?) pins. So I called JWT, and apparently the flywheel includes 4 custom "stepped" dowel pins. The seller of the flywheel didn't include them, and failed to mention them. So now, my car is sitting on the lift with the tranny on the ground. Hopefully I'll be able to get JWT to overnight me the pins, but I haven't heard back yet.
Having never done any work like this, I don't even really know what dowel pins are, much less that they are part of the whole "setup." Maybe I should have known, and asked for them when I got the flywheel. But I just wanted to let anyone else know in case they thought of going used...
Live and learn(Cheryl is *pissed* at me right now)

I did get the pins overnighted. But I managed to screw that one up to. The pins were only $10, and because of the size, they could be placed in an envelope for cheaper shipping. Shipping only cost $27.
When I paid by credit card, the guy asked me if the shipping address was the same as the billing address. Because of credit card company hassles, I just said "Yes."
According to fedex's website, they are scheduled to be at my house at 4:30 this AFTERNOON. So that means I get to spend another day in kia hell.

That sucks, but at least it sounds like everything will be taken care of very soon.
And if the Kia is a rental, hussle that little b**** for all it's worth. That usually helps me enjoy it somewhat.

Update. The pins didn't get to my house until 4, so the dealership received them at about 4:30. And they close at 6. So I'm not getting it back until tomorrow.
