Rouge Shifter Released!

I just got this in my email...

Greetings!

You are receiving this message because of your interest in our 350Z/G35 short shift kit. We are happy to announce that production has been going smoothly and we anticipate being able to start shipment of our production kits starting next week (week starting October 20).

This shifter has an introductory price of $239 for a limited time. UPS shipping charges will apply.

With this highly anticipated product, we hope to have enough in our first production to fulfill all of our inquiries, as they will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Subsequent production will have an approximately 6-week lead time after the first production is sold out.

To pre-order your shifter, click on the following link:

http://www.rogueengineering.com/350z

As we do not have a firm ship DAY (other than anticipation of shipping next week), we will honor shipping request to our best ability. In other words, if you HAVE TO HAVE it immediately when available, and you indicate UPS Next Day or 2nd Day shipping, we will do our best to fill those orders first.

Thank you for your patience and interest in Rogue Engineering.

Regards,
Ben Liaw

Re: Rouge Shifter Released!

thanks for the heads-up
So its finally being released. I think i will wait until i hear some people's reactions.
I just adjusted the clutch and that seems to make my life ALOT easier now. I am not in a hurry anymore for a short shifter.

I wonder if this short shifter would work well with the shortened clutch travel.

Re: Rouge Shifter Released!

it makes the throws shorter and more positive engagement feeling, but doesnt change the height of the stock shifter

I am just curious as to what others have experienced with this rouge's shifter

The review of the prototype shifter is posted on my350z.com
The short shifter hit's every single point that I don't like about the shifter and greatly improves those points. Needless to say I pre-ordered mine. Whenever it arrives I'll install it and review it.

Rambo of course it will work fine. Why would you think there would be a problem?

Also I noticed a "but" when doesnt change stock shift height. Did you mean that you wanted it to change or glad that it didnt.

Re: Rouge Shifter Released!

I have the Rouge Short Shifter... in one word to describe: AWESOME.

It is a quicker more precise "snick" and when it enters a gate it isn't two thumps like it usually is but one "thump" right in...

I can't explain it, ...but also when i took out my old shifter stick, the plastic bearing part at the very bottom that connects to the tranny was twisted out and curdled... like if i went another 1000 miles that it mighta fallen out...

Well, there aren't a lot of Rouge SS's out there but the ones who do have them i'm sure feel the same as me... that there is a nicer shift response, much sturdier, quicker, less notchiness, one thump in the gate is a plus, less vibrations in the feel, and no swaying back and forth laterally while in the gates... it's like it fits inside the gates snuggly...

ace

ps. when you install this, you will say "this is the danm way the shifter shoulda came rolling off the lot..."

Re: Rouge Shifter Released!

so the shifts are actually shorter? i didn't think it could get much shorter without adverse affects (shorter shifter height, more vibrations, etc), but i guess i was totally wrong! i didn't even think they offered these yet. glad i've been trolling around the threads as much as i have been!

Re: Rouge Shifter Released!

this sounds like a really worthwhile mod.. many a times I've found myself really distracted by how "notchy" the shifter is.

any clue on how much installation will run? (hours of labour?)
I've never had to replace a shifter before...
