Spec fly wheel installation issue

I just purchased a Spec fly wheel for my '03 G35 coupe. I had it taken to the dealer to have it installed and my service representative says the fly wheel doesn't fit in the car b/c it is too small in size and is missing something called a wear indicator. When I called Spec, they say it is normal for the fly wheel to be small, but when I told Infiniti to go ahead and install it, the technician was still very skepticle. Does anyone know if the Spec clutch is suppose to be smaller? because I truly do not feel like spending $500 installation and having it to be replaced b/c of the wrong fly wheel.

Verify the part number is corect. Did you buy it from Spec directly, or one of its distributers? I'm a Spec dealer, and have sold quite a few Spec products for the G35/350Z, and never had one complaint about this type of problem. However, I have yet to actually install one of them on a G35.

How much "smaller" is it? Its got to be a certain size, for the started to be able to catch the teeth on the end of the flywheel. Did he mean smaller in diameter, or thinner?

tell you the truth, i truly dont know what they mean by smaller, but the model for the fly wheel is sn35a and says jim wolf technology on it and is black in color. I'll be speaking with the dealer tomorrow and will compare it to a stock fly wheel. I contacted a distributer that contacted spec for me and had it sent directly to my house from Spec.

He meant smaller as in thickness. The mechanic is now telling me the the car will not turn on because the Spec flywheel does not have a o-ring(the metal piece that doubles the size for the stock flywheel). Since it is missing that piece, the sensor in the car will not see if the clutch is connected or disconnected. I don't know if this is true, I think they're just trying to get me to buy the stock flywheel for $1200

They should be the same size. I didn't have any problems like this on my UR flywheel. Contact them directly and make sure you have the right part, if you do find out what you are missing to make this work properly.

The JWT flywheel is the same size as oem, but the dowel pins are staggered, as opposed to the OEM dowel pins. But this doesn't seem to be your issue.

Can you get more info from the tech?

I just contacted both Jim Wolf and Spec considering Spec buys their flywheels from JWT. Wolf said that Spec put the wrong flywheel in the box with the correct product number. The piece that the tech kept mentioning was the crank encoder. So Spec is going to send me the correct fly wheel with the encoder.
