I'm just wondering if it is possible to convert an 5AT to 6MT

i really want a 6MT now, just thought it would be cheaper to convert it rather than trading the car in for a 6MT

 

it's not worth converting. you are much better off trading in

It will be way too much money to swap. You're talking about at least $5K and this is assuming used parts.

 

so it'd be cheaper to trade it in for a 6mt?? i have a new 2006 coupe with only 3k miles right now.. if i were to trade it in, how much would i be spending to get a NEW '06 coupe?? or cheaper to get '05?

 

by the way i think this depends on the state. in cali you have to pay sales tax on the entire purchase price, not just the difference.

 

why do want 6MT?

 

the reason y i want 6MT now bcuz sports car are made to be manual and i'll have more fun with it.. i got 5AT bcuz my parents wanted to use it sometimes and they don't kno how to drive a stick.. it's been 6 months now that i've had the car and they never even touch it..

 

go trade it in, it will be cheaper and more reliable

 

WOW BUDDY... -.- ur EXACTLY on the same boat as me.. i got my coupe 3 months ago too. but its 03 i wanted 6MT all along however, my mom 'said' she wanted to drive it now and then.. BUT SHE HASN"T EVEN TOUCHED IT SINCE I GOT IT..

 

that's every mom's excuse to get their kids an auto so they won't speed. they just think it's dangerous or something.
i'd encourage my kids to get a manual. =D
