Exclamation clutch noise

how you doin guys its been awhile
but i had my clutch replaced for free at around 20k because one of the lines snapped and they said my clutch was wornout or somethin about my flywheel, but they replaced it all for free. Before all that happened, there was a rattling noise comin from the clutch in the sense, when it was pushed down i heard nothing, when i let go and let it idle it was just loud and rattling. that same sound is happening again, and its happended a few hundred miles after i got the new clutch. im not saying i dont push the car, buts i can seriously count the amount of times i have and its less than 10 since then , and now im up to 29500. THe noise is annoying and real loud when the clutch is released, it honestly sounds like its hanging and about to fall lol
any suggestions ?

Mine has done that since I purchased the car. Sounds really bad in drive up windows (with the echo).

I just live with it.

I got an 03 with 73,000 miles and just replaced the clutch
and flywheel yesterday with an A.C.T stage 2... I've driven
the car hard since i bought the thing brand new....As far as
the rattling, my stock clutch never did

It shounds like your throw out bearing (release bearing). If it goes away when the clutch is disengauged (pushed in) and comes back when the clutch is engauged i would bet it's the throw out bearing. Nothing really to worrie about. Next time you have the tranny off spary alot of white lithuim grease on the bearing and that should help

Knocking in neutral but goes away after clutch pressed about half way

I just had my clutch replaced about 2 months ago and i noticed that when the car is in neutral it sometimes knocks and then goes away when the clutch is pressed about half way. The mechanic said he also replaced the throwout bearing so i dont know what it could be. Doesnt do it all the time but it seems to get worse after driving it for a little. I asked the mechanic and he thinks the master and slave clutch cylinder should be replaced but i dont see how that would fix it. Anyone have any advice. I almost feel embarrased at stops cause of the noise. With the throwout bearing replaced could it be the cylinder is not working right in pressing the bearing cause that would make the noise go away when the clutch is pressed a little bit. Not half way sometimes to make the noise go away. I dunno what to do.

Are you sure it's coming from the transmission and not an exhaust rattle? Have you had the vehicle up in the air, reproduced the issue, and posit5ively identified it's actually coming from inside the bellhousing. When a TO bearing goes out it makes a "swishing sound" until it's really bad then it makes a "grinding sound" but it's a consistent sound, I've never heard one that had a rattle or knocking sound to it.

The reason for your mechanic suggesting the CMC and CSC being replaced is they will definitely fail before the second clutch wears out and when they do it can take out your brand new clutch as well. Typically when you replace a clutch you replace EVERYTHING related to the clutch.

My '04 has had the sound sporadically since brand new. Years ago people would try to get the "marbles in the transmission" sound (TO bearing) fixed under warranty. Some dealers would try to fix it, others (including myself) were told it "was normal". I have 134k miles on the original clutch, and other than the sound no issues.
