Did you check the guide plate? Maybe it got loose. When I installed my RE short shifter, I couldn't get into 5th until I readjust it.

rofl. yeah, that happened to me when ryan (jdm r tab) and i were installing my RE short shifter, it said to shift to 6th gear when placing in the guide plate. then when i shift up to 5th, it wouldnt even budge. finding out it wasnt alligned, i had to kind of shift up and slanting it slighty to the left.

if you were installing a RE short shift or Nismo, you might want to loosen the 3 bolts that holds down the guide plate. if you line up the guide plate where you can shift 5th and 6th easily all gears should follow through. it's something you could do and not pay the dealership $40+ for an adjustment. just my .02 cents

will look into guideplate........since car is at dealer now, i'll see what they have to say......hopefully the 1st and 1st-2nd notchiness will have them replace the tranny....that's a big hope though.....
thanks fellas......
