I'm planning to do a tranny flush very soon. I called Redline and they said the D4 ATF is also compatible with the Nissan J Matic. I'll probably end up using Redline since I can get it at my local Napa Auto parts.
i think i read in the FSM a list of other fluids besides J-Matic that meets specification
also, the mechanic at my dealer told me that you can disconnect the coolant return line...feed it to a bucket if you dont have a large enough catch pan....still need two people to do it tho

The J Matic has a special additive to match the new dual clutch lock up mechanism. It might be possible to modify the stick slip characteristic of PREMIUM ATF to emulate J Matic.
The additive smooths the engagement and disengagemnt of lock up.
Lubeguard BLACK might work with experimentation?
Unfortunately errors don't usually show up until after warranty around 100k.

I called around to see how much the dealers charge for a tranny flush and I decided to let them do it. Cost is $190 and they use J matic. It'll cost me almost the same if I were to buy the fluids and take it to an independent shop.
By the way, i'm taking it to Frontier Infiniti.
