Clutch question...
just got my car back from dealer for 22500 service...they said they looked at the clutch and that my stock one is slipping (i drive normally and speed once in a while)...anyways they said the clutch engages too high...but it was like that since i first got the car. they also explained that the slipping clutch caused my mpg to get lower (i get about 220 miles on one tank, still too low even though i do all city driving)...but a slipping clutch causing the mpg to go down, is this possible/probable??
i really dont notice any thing that says my clutch is slipping. No change in rpm when i speed off; it doesnt feel like its revving more than it has to when i accelerate. only time i do notice slipping is when im on a hill with traffic...i dont use my clutch to stay in place, but when its stop and go, i notice that my clutch does kinda slip as im about to go...
also will changing out the clutch cause the clutch pedal to engage quicker? meaning engage sooner as i release the clutch pedal?
any help is greatly appreciated...thanks

1. slipping clutch can and WILL increase mpg, because engine power is not used at 100% , meaning that there is a `wasted` power/torque (call it whatever you want) that is not used - NOT delivered to the wheels
2. You will probably will not notice the slipping clutch however this is the problem that will progress... clutch will wear out even more and will slip EVEN more...
3. try to go in 6th speed and accelerate (in 6th gear ratio is the smallest) ..did it slip??? if not FULLY then if you have a slipping clutch you have to feel slipping because 280hp have to do something , right
hope it helps
