Clutch adjustment on an 05

I've read some of the threads on adjusting the clutch engagement point, making the clutch "more normal". Has anyone performed this mod? Did it cause any problems down the road? Some have said that the clutch is self-adjusting, and will return to the stock position in time.

Just want to get some feedback...

You can do the mod, but dont do it too much. If you lower the pedal too much, the clutch will not disengage/engage fully and you will eat your clutch in months. This is how you test it....

Start your car, in a garage preferably...With the clutch engaged (foot off), open your door and listen for the notorious chatter. Now push ur clutch in, see how it goes away? Do the mod....and after you successfully complete it, try the same test. Listen for the chatter with your foot off the clutch, now push it in. If the chatter doesnt go away while its pushed in, that means the clutch is still making contact, which is not good at all, and you lowered the pedal too much. Play with it and find the sweet spot.

Well I did the mod with 2 turns. It's not as balky in 1st-much smoother. I did Chilibow's test, and heard the chatter stop with the clutch depressed, so I think everything is ok. I'll keep it like this for a while and see how she does.

Man, what a pain in the butt to get to a silly bolt!!!

I'm loving the mod! The clutch is a pleasure to use now; nowhere near as touchy as before. With my new tires, it's like another car

Interesting...I just got my clutch replaced and its now engaging way early and I'm actually stalling out...I was thinking that I just needed time to get used to it.

Do the adjustment if the car is jerky. You can always put it back...just remember to mark the bolt with a permanent marker prior to adjusting.

This mod is still running without any problems!

The car is very jerky. It literally engages right when I slowly release the clutch.
