take it to the dealer - no sense in putting a band aid where you need a cast.

I called my local Infiniti dealership today to see if they would check my AT fluid level and they said it would cost $52 just to check the level.
I was hoping to take it up to West Covina Infiniti this weekend because they seem to be good guys and they have great prices. I cant make it this weekend but will probably have them do a full tranny Flush in the next couple weeks to see if that fixes the problem (only $99 for forum members!).
Anyway, the slipping and wandering is still noticeable. When we first did the drain and fill, it was slightly underfilled. I added fluid a couple times and today I borrowed the dipstick off another G35 and the level was too high so we drained a bit of it. It is now in the middle but still seems to be wandering and slipping slightly. It seems that a lot of people have experienced similar problems but nobody knows why it is happening or how to fix it????????
My G slips and wanders under light steady throttle around 40 and around 70. It also slips significantly every once in a while and the RPM's will increase to almost 6,000 RPM unless I give it more gas and force a clunky downshift. Even weirder... today on the freeway it seemed that the RPM's got stuck on about 3,500 RPM and even dipped down for a moment before increasing again under 1/2 throttle.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am starting to think my tranny is going bad (but it seems odd since I haven't heard of anybody else having to replace or even rebuild their tranny).
